southsider2k5
I watched JFK the lost bullet on NatGeo last night and it got me curious about what Soxtalk thought? Its odd, but as time has gone by, and I have seen more and more ballistics test, along with much more impressive technologically based analysis, I have thought less and less that this is a conspiracy, and more likely that Oswald did it himself. So how do people believe Kennedy was killed? I left the options simple, but I'd be curious to hear Soxtalk's favorite theories, in replies to the post. GoSox05
Maybe someone put Oswald up to or maybe he did it himself. Not every single major event in history has to be a conspiracy.
clyons
I have gone back and forth on this over the years. As I get older and more time goes by, I become more convinced he acted alone, basically because of the principle of Occam's Razor. There's undeniably a lot of weird stuff surrounding the event and Jack Ruby (for whatever his motives) did no one any favors, but the thing about the conspiracy theories that I ultimately can't accept is that a secret that big could have been held so tightly for so long. knightni
He shot alone, but Kennedy's death was orchestrated by others - Oswald was the loose end after doing his part.
Soxbadger
I dont think Oswald was the only shooter. Not really based on any great evidence, but I think that multiple shooters makes more sense to get the job done. From the footage I would guess that there was some sort of "kill zone" where Kennedy was in the sight of multiple shooters. Id also guess that Oswald was more of a patsy, with the actual sharpshooter making the kill blow that takes off Kennedy's head. Also suspicious when someone gets killed before they even get to tell their story. Edited November 23, 2011 by Soxbadger

The bullets in the Zapruder film came from the book depository. It's really hard to accept the lone wolf, but we always think things must be more complicated. And yes, in this case it is worse, because we were robbed of the shooter.
Texsox
I'm for the lone gunman theory.
Soxbadger
Ive seen the footage, I just dont really get that involved because no matter what happens the death of Oswald always leaves a "What if". I guess I would find it more believable if everything didnt happen so conveniently. Kennedy is shot, Oswald is caught less than 2 hours later. I guess I just find it hard to believe that Oswald was smart enough to assassinate Kennedy from distance and in a way where he wasnt readily seen, but at the same time seemingly had no plan to escape. lostfan
The interrogation of Oswald after he was captured has to be one of the most incompetently handled interrogations in history.
GoSox05
Oswald was a good sharpshooter. Often hitting targets twice as far and in rapid succession.
Milkman delivers
I believe that Oswald did the shooting, but I think there was a larger game at play. It wasn't just him deciding that he was going to kill the president. He was put up to it. Ruby killing him, and then dying not too long after in prison sort of says something. Soxbadger
Gosox, There is a lot of strange information about Oswald's shooting ability. http://www.aarclibrary.org/publib/jfk/wc/w...eport_0108a.htm Youll notice that in 1956 Oswald scored "sharpshooter" but 3 years later he scored "marksman". Oswald was not a trained assassin (to the best of our knowledge) so you would have to assume he had some nervousness. I just cant imagine that Oswald came up with this plan, but at the same time was so clueless on escape. It seems the plan of someone else, with Oswald getting screwed at the end. Basically that Oswald was supposed to meet his handlers, who never showed up. Why else is he still in town? Its not like the police were in hot pursuit, he could have easily just driven away. (edit) And I think Oswald was involved, just not entirely convinced he acted alone. Edited November 23, 2011 by Soxbadger
