That sucks. I got to watch Ian in Winston-Salem last season absolutely crush the baseball - was hoping to see what he could do against AA or AAA pitching next year. ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (oldsox @ Nov 28, 2011 -> 11:08 AM) Who is the better prospect, Gac or Andy Wilkins? Andy Wilkins, I'm sure. Not only is Wilkins 3 years younger, but after 8 season, Gac was still at the same level that it took Wilkins 2 seasons to reach.
southsider2k5
I would be shocked if either ever took a swing at the MLB level.
DirtySox
Wilkins is the better prospect. Agreed with above though. Neither are likely to ever crack the Bigs.
danman31
I'm not putting Wilkins in the top 10 prospects, but he skipped low-A and had a much better second half (.938 OPS vs. .730 OPS). He adjusted to the level. Granted, his OPS was over 100 points higher at home so who knows how he'll handle Birmingham, but I can see him being a Ross Gload type for a few seasons. CWSpalehoseCWS
Some minor moves I haven't seen posted: SS Ray Olmedo and LHP Eric Stults were both signed to minor league deals. Olmedo is obviously a Triple-A filler. Stults got a spring training invite though. I could see him battling for a spot if/when Thornton is moved. Not exactly what I would call impressive... southsider2k5
Eh, it is non-roster invitees. By their very nature, they aren't going to be big headliners
Balta1701
Hmmm, Stults threw 50 innings for the Dodgers in 09, might have caught him on TV, that's probably why. Lefty, started a few games for them, but doesnt' have great numbers against lefties in his career. It is org fodder from the LH Reliever side, which seems like something we're piling up. Stults spent some time with the Rockies in 2011. Got hit pretty hard in one game, got cut right after that.

You're thinking of Eric Stoltz, he played Rocky in the movie Mask with Cher in it. Pretty sweet pic, he had that elephant man face and all, he was also in Pulp Fiction which was a good film too. SoxAce
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) Hmmm, Stults threw 50 innings for the Dodgers in 09, might have caught him on TV, that's probably why. Maybe it's because he pitched a complete game against us a couple years back? I kinda remember that familiar name doing that I think he didn't give much up in hits, maybe like a run or two and this board going nuts. EDIT: Ya I just looked it up. Pitched a complete game, four hit shutout against us 3 years ago. A no stuff, no name lefty blanking us... Shocking. ChiliIrishHammock24
I know the Sox are projected and expected to take a pitcher with the #13 overall pick, but I can't help but think Kenny is licking his lips if this guy falls to #13..... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/924427-...andings/page/11 He just looks like someone we would typically draft.
