Springfield Soxfan
This is a new name from Phil Rogers, anyone ever heard anything on him? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/break...,0,227889.story
southsider2k5
Here's a name for far-sighted White Sox fans: Jefferson Olacio, a 17-year-old Dominican left-hander who stands 6-7 and figures to become a monster as he grows. His velocity has jumped from the 70s to the low-90s in three years and projects to the mid-90s, maybe high-90s. He signed for $125,000. … impossible. We all know the Sox don't sign in Latin America. danman31
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 10:19 AM) impossible. We all know the Sox don't sign in Latin America. Well in fairness $125,000 doesn't really register much of a blip when sites like BA report the foreign signings. The Sox sign players and due to the unpredictable nature of scouting players from Latin America, you're going to find some talent for cheap. However, the Sox have been criticized for not spending. This guy doesn't do anything to change that perception.

danman31
Yeah more than a walk an inning is 'a bit' wild. Man, it must be tough to watch foreign rookie ball. Some of the stats in those leagues are out of this world.
Leonard Washington
I hope he succeeds. The nickname possibilities are outstanding.
southsider2k5
QUOTE (Pale Sox @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 11:25 PM) I hope he succeeds. The nickname possibilities are outstanding. The playing of the Jefferson's theme song alone would be worth it.

In his defense a 17 year old with that frame who has already gone from the upper 70's to the low 90's is worth talking about.
scenario
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 08:53 AM) In his defense a 17 year old with that frame who has already gone from the upper 70's to the low 90's is worth talking about. A 17-year old 6'7" lefty who can throw over 90mph... Definitely worth keeping an eye on. I have to laugh a little at his control though. witesoxfan
QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 04:54 AM) He's 6'7 and he from DR, Who knows if he's actually 17 or not Those that have been incorrect recently have been by like a year. So if he's 18 instead of 17, I'm not going to cry a river.
