ChiliIrishHammock24
Cepedes struck out in his 1st AB.
Kalapse
I believe he's due up next (after Brandon Moss) so tune in now. Oh and Miguel Tejada looks super fat, he's due up after Cespedes.

Kalapse
And he K's again, pretty horrible AB. Going off the 1 AB I've seen from him, here is my scouting report: he f***ing sucks, wild, off balance hacks at bad pitches. He sure does fill out a jersey, though. Oh Miguel Tejada, you were once a roided up freak now you're just a big fat guy.
caulfield12
Didn't Tejada homer? He's playing 2B or 3B? Someone on Cespedes' team jacked one out in the bottom of the 2nd, #4. I'm sure he's pretty nervous...despite all his international experience...to know that every at-bat could be costing (or earning) you millions. DirtySox
Kevin_Goldstein Kevin Goldstein Yoenis Cespedes is 0-for-2 with 2 Ks so far. Everybody jump to conclusions! 6 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply Kevin_Goldstein Kevin Goldstein To be fair, I've yet to talk to a scout who puts more than a 50 for a future score on Cespedes' hit tool. 4 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply
caulfield12
Well, that kid is definitely a DH or corner OFer, 50 inch vertical be damned. And if his best tool is hitting, he's probably not worth the price tag unless it comes heavily discounted. We already had Quentin at that price and it wasn't worth holding onto him. Ventura can fix him, Tm.

flavum
I like how everyone is suddenly a professional scout nowadays.
ChiliIrishHammock24
The guy hit .453 last season and contact isn't a skill of his? So what would a good hitter do in that league? Hit .500+ every year? Is this slow pitch softball league?

fathom
Soler's going to have a lot of suitors going after him like the Red Sox. Even before tonight, I wanted nothing to do with Cespedes.

There's one where you have to give Guillen credit. He stuck with Alexei through the first 6 weeks of the 2008 season, didn't send him down to Charlotte, and that patience really paid off. My biggest concern is we really need a true CFer...and Cespedes isn't that. He reminds me of Vernon Wells, for some reason.

ChiliIrishHammock24
Cepedes did look awful, and you can't judge based off one game, but man, 0 for 3 with 3 K's looks SO much better in the boxscore than if you actually watched it. He looked completely lost.

Ozzie benched Ramirez about 4 games into the season and he didn't get another shot until Uribe was hitting so poorly that HE needed to be benched.
