Also they have back loaded some of their FA deals. IIRC, the had to increase spending to starve off a MLBPA complaint. Whatever you want to say about Crisp’s virtues, a large chunk of his value is tied up in his glove -- he won’t be an asset to a big league lineup playing regularly in a corner. One other bit.
