chw42
http://www.nba.com/games/20120110/CHIMIN/g...8#nbaGIboxscore Watch the end of the recap video. They blurred out Rose saying something to Rubio (I think it was Rubio at least, that's who was guarding him). I think I saw "f*** you man" from reading his lips (hard to do since it's blurred out a bit). It could have been "f*** yeah", but you'd think he would have said it with a little more expression. Jordan4life_2007
I completely underestimated how bad the eastern conference is. It's borderline early 2000's bad.
SoxFan1
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 11:00 PM) I completely underestimated how bad the eastern conference is. It's borderline early 2000's bad. Besides the fact that 2 of the best 3 teams in the league are from the East. Whereas, the early 2000's had the Lakers, Kings, Spurs and Mavs.

Yes, because two teams make a conference. You've basically got 2 legitimate contenders, a couple above average teams, and lottery s***.

Rose was getting pissed off at Rubio during the game (specifically during that 20-2 run). Rubio forced a couple turnovers in a row and then proceeded to tear up the Bulls defense on the other end of the floor, which led to a terrible Rose three-point attempt IIRC. I wouldn't be surprised if it was "f*** you man" at all.

Heat, Bulls, Sixers, Celtics, Pacers, Hawks, Magic, and Knicks. There's a 95% those teams make the playoffs.

Felix
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 10:07 PM) It surprises me that Rose would talk s*** like that, especially to a guy like Rubio. I imagine Rubio's style of play would get under the skin of his opponents. Lots of flash, lots of poking to pry the ball loose on defense. Russell Westbrook basically blew a gasket earlier this year when they played the Wolves. He even "bashed" Rubio after the game to reporters. Of course, when Russell Westbrook does that, it's much less surprising than when Derrick Rose does it

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 11:11 PM) And you know at least two, if not three, of those teams will get in with sub-.500 records. I doubt it. chw42
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 10:11 PM) And you know at least two, if not three, of those teams will get in with sub-.500 records. I'm not so sure of that actually. I think the Pacers will finish above .500 this year. Boston's at least a .500 team if they can stay semi-healthy. The Knicks aren't going to be below .500. The Sixers probably won't be either. Then you're left with the Hawks and Orlando. The only way I see Orlando going below is if they trade Howard. With the Hawks, you never know, but they're at least a .500ish team. But after those 8 teams, we probably won't see any teams near .500. Maybe Toronto or Milwaukee with a slight chance of Cleveland winning 25 or so games. But outside of that, it's a sea of awfulness.

Right.. the Bulls are infallible (even during a 20-2 run) and Rose has never made a bad decision in his life. My deepest apologies.

Just barely. The Knicks and Sixers got in with 42 and 41 wins. In a shortened season, I think you'll see more than one team get in with a below .500 record.
