:nono Aw, come on dude, you're not gonna get flamed for not putting DRose at #1

I've been flamed for less :P

My top 10 has a lot of interchangeable parts, but would basically be split up into tiers. Players in each tier can be moved around, etc. etc.

1. Lebron

2. Dwight

-- I'll take these two over anyone else in basketball if I was starting a team right now. Physical freaks that are damn near impossible to defend, plus two of the best defensive players in the league (especially since Lebron can basically guard anyone on the floor).

3. Durant

4/5. Rose

4/5. CP3

-- As far as I'm concerned, Rose/CP3 are interchangeable. They're both elite level point guards that have very different styles. Depending on the team, I'd prefer CP3 at the point. On the Bulls, Rose is a great fit. You can't go wrong with either, however. Durant might be a little overrated on this list given his defense, but given his age and potential, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

6. Kobe

7. Dirk

8. Wade

-- Blah blah blah words

9. Westbrook

10. Carmelo

11. Manu

12. Gasol

13. Love

14. Griffin

15. Aldridge

-- This is a crapshoot. A lot of them are very close, so I just put them in some order that I was ok with. Not the biggest Carmelo fan in the world. He basically kills any offensive flow that a team has and is a pure volume shooter with no interest in defense. I find him incredibly irritating to watch, even when he's scoring.

KD has won the last two scoring titles. How many more shots is he supposed to take?

It would help OKC if the more efficient and better scorer would get more shots at the end of a game...I remember a game last year when OKC rebounded the ball during the final seconds, Westbrook pushed the ball up, had Durant open at the wing and still Westbrook forced up a shot (he bricked it) while KD had this look to his face like "there you go again", lol.

I wish I could remember what game it was (maybe the Grizzlies series?) but Durant's dismayed expression stuck with me...

I have no recollection of the specific instance you're referring to. I agree that KD should always be the first option at the end of games (depending on what the defense throws at you). But Westbrook gets way too much crap for playing with Durant. Statistically, standard and advanced, he was every bit as good as Rose last year save 3-pointers. His shot-selection and decision-making is suspect at times. But so is Rose's.

You got a good point there but Rose doesn't have anyone like Durant alongsides him, sometimes he needs to force a shot up since he's basically the player who can create his own shot on the Bulls.

All I'm saying is Westbrook shouldn't be jacking up forced shots while he has KD on the floor with him...

You just proved my point. It's OK that Rose at times takes bad shots because there's nobody for him to defer to. Who's to say Rose wouldn't have similar difficulties meshing with such an uber-talent like Durant? Rose is not Nash or Paul or Williams. He looks to score first. He was that way at Memphis.

I have a hard time bringing Rose's one year at Memphis into the discussion. It's true, we don't know what Rose would do with the best scorer in the league on his team, but one can assume his work ethic and drive would have him feeding that freak and getting his when he gets his. Listen, we all just saw what the Bulls' 2nd and 3rd options look like without Rose on the floor in that game against the Wizards, and both Deng and Boozer shat themselves.

I would love for us Bulls fans to have that "problem" OKC has. :lolhitting

I'm just saying. They're both "scoring" point guards. They're both athletic freaks of nature, similar skill-sets, and the same age I believe. And I said before the season started that I don't like the Bulls' roster outside of Rose. They've overachieved the last year+. Much credit to TT. He's a better coach than I ever thought possible. Boozer is garbage. Deng is like the 15th best SF in the league. And Noah reminds of Luc Longley at times.

Yeah, I think we agree. I just don't know that I can definitely call this the only game Rose can play. I believe he took over on offense because the Bulls had so little shot without him doing that. Hell, we all saw how bad the Bulls looked to start games this season as Rose was trying to defer to his supporting cast.

The Bulls are a nice deep team, but without Rose they are a lottery team. That is some scary s***. The Thunder could lose Westbrook (whom I agree is a Rose-lite) and not skip a beat.

Deng is a top 10 SF (considering both off. and def.).

I have no idea how Noah can remind anybody of Longley, totally different types of players...

Well except for the facts that Noah is black, athletic, a good rebounder, a terrible shooter, and high energy, they are a lot alike.

Top 10? No way. Grant Hill is 50 and he's just about as good. Noah was arguably the second best C in the conference this time last year. He's fallen off a cliff since then.

Im not sure that Rose was a true scoring pg in college.

Rose ran the dribble drive motion offense in college, which meant that any player who was on the ball would attempt to get to the rim or kick the ball out. So basically everyone on the team played a similar role (primary job was to try and score through the drive.)

If you watched Memphis play (especially in the regular season), Chris Douglas Roberts was the #1 scoring option and Rose was more the facilitator (Rose had 189 assists compared to Roberts 71).

People forget that even in the tournament Roberts shot more than Rose.

SF's better than Deng:

LeBron

Durant

Melo

Pierce

Gay

AI2

Wallace

Granger

Marion

AK

SFs arguably better:

Wright

Gallinari

Butler

Hedo

Hill

Deng is somewhere in that third-tier.

lol@ that list...

Are you saying just offensive wise and not including defense, because if we are talking both ends of the court, your list sucks.

Deng is one of the best wing defenders in the league. He's quite, quite good.

His offense isn't great, but it's tough to ignore his defensive prowess.

His mid-range jumper has been solid for a while and he's good in the open court.

The bolded have been missing for nearly a year now.
