MexSoxFan#1
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 12:50 PM) Zero good reasons for him to play tonight even if things were improving. Bulls have been crushing the bottom feeders with or without Rose, so just get well DR.
southsider2k5
The sad thing is, I think in a full, normal, regular season, the Bulls are a 45ish win team without Rose.
danman31
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 01:55 PM) The sad thing is, I think in a full, normal, regular season, the Bulls are a 45ish win team without Rose. I don't see too much difference in quality between that hypothetical team and the Bulls that won 50 games in the Hinrich era. Besides, 45-50 wins without your best player is more than almost any other team in the league. Miami could survive losing Wade or LeBron and contend, but after that it's a short list. Not sure why that's sad.

Not sure why that's sad. Its sad statement on how bad the bottom of the NBA is this year. Honestly the other side of the coin is that it is a great statement of how well Foreman/Paxson have done building a 15 player deep team.

That still gets you the 5 or 6 seed in the East most years. That's not bad for a team whose best player would be Luol Deng.

That's not bad for a team whose best player would be Luol Deng. Deng the long overdue all-star, along with a two former All-Stars (Boozer/Hamilton) and a top 5-8 center (Noah). 45 would be the minimum. I think that team could compete with Boston/Indiana/Atlanta/Orlando for 2nd best in the east.

Boozer is playing nowhere near his All-Star peak and Hamilton is a dinosaur who can't stay on the court. The Bulls would not contend for the #2 spot without Rose. They'd be a 5-8 seed at best. The Bulls would not contend for the #2 spot without Rose. They'd be a 5-8 seed at best. I don't think any of those teams I listed are particularly good, and they all have big flaws. I see no reason why they couldn't compete with those second tier eastern conference teams. They've been crushing the awful teams without him (about to go 6-2 after tonight's game). How many wins would that be alone in a season? 30-35? They couldn't go .500 against the better teams in the NBA?
DukeNukeEm
Never mind our second unit is really good. We'd be a lot like the Pacers, who by the way 1 game out of the 4 seed and only 3 from the 3 seed.

chw42
24 points for Lin, 11 assists, and he just tied the game up. The only thing that's holding his game back is the turnovers. As long as his shot selection is solid, I don't think there should be any big concerns about his shooting efficiency.
