Good god. After reading this circle jerk last night, I am glad I went to HS games for last night. MJ was the most dominant player I have ever seen, but time does not freeze and the game changes. If you guys want to keep on slapping each other on the backs over the 90's like they are the only period of NBA basketball, feel free.

Wade>>>>Jordan!

This post is pure comedy. Maybe someday it will change, but an in his prime MJ is still the best player of any era. He was as athletic and competitive as anyone in the game today and he was a basketball player. Too many people get caught up in athleticism as the end all. If it was, Tyrus Thomas would be considered far better than Larry Bird or Magic Johnson for that matter.

THIS

Athleticism IMO is overrated, give me elite skills and fundamentals with above average athleticism (Bird, Duncan, Magic) over elite athleticism and above average skills and funfamentals, MJ killed because he was elite in all 3, and to boot, had one of the highest competitive drives ever in sports and mentally he was an assassin.

LBJ, one of the greatest physical specimens, has so far shown not to have the competitive drive nor the mental make up to devestate like MJ did...I think LBJ will win a title based on his physical gifts but no way do I see him racking 4, 5 titles.

Like I've said before, gimme a Larry Bird over a Dwight Howard or really anybody in the league today.

Is someone seriously arguing that 23 was weak on "Athleticism"?

Seriously, the next time the 1991 championship series is on ESPN classic, just watch. Jordan's lightning. It's like watching Rose except taller and better.

No Balta, what ss2K5 was arguing is that in today's NBA there are more players physically similar to Jordan, so he would have defenders able to stay in front of him, making him a decent player, not the great player he was.

I think that's garbage and you make a good point with the Rose/Jordan comparison.

He did imply that Wade is athletically better than Jordan which is complete garbage. Jordan was only better than Wade at dunking and defense. That is just terrible.

No one said the 90s were the only period of NBA basketball. You are ridiculous.

what you did there when quoting him was epic.

The last 12 pages or so of this thread I just read were great entertainment. Thanks guys.

No word on Rose yet.

He's not playing, I'd rather they shut him down until after the AS break.

Sloppy start by the Bulls, down 19-3...where's Stacy?

It's been hard to follow the team from afar. Did Rose die? Where the hell has he been?

Rose got back spasms about 2 weeks ago, he tried to play through it against the hornets and made it worse, so they have been sitting him ever since

Based on their statements, if this was a playoff game he could probably go, but why push it? A midseason loss to the Nets doesn't hurt much.

Probably also gives him time to help that turf toe.

I hope the little fella doesn't start having an injury plagued career. There's only so much a body can take when you're running into trees.

I think a big part of it right now is how compressed this season is. In a normal year he might have missed 3 games so far, instead this is 5, and when something small happens there's another game before there's any time to get treatment.

I guess hes never afraid to send a message to the starters

Right after it became like 6-2, you could hear Boozer saying "Come on Jo let's wake up".

That, um, bothered me.
