Reigning MVP must be better in 4th q. 1-5, big FT miss, Bulls lose to half-hearted DHoward at home. Yes, Korver cold but this one on DRose.

i looooove when you analyze, Skip.

I seriously hate Skip Bayless.

He doesn't actually watch basketball, I'm now sure of it. I had this epiphany this morning when he said he'd take Kyrie Irving over Derrick Rose. I'm not making this up.

Well a win is a win, we played probably 1 and a half good quarters of basketball all up, but the Bulls weren't very good tonight.

The 1st Q showed what we're capable if we get good ball movement on offense and can actually knock down our shots.

Orlando is so Jekyll and Hyde though they can blow a 20PT lead to the worst team in basketball one night and then lead by around 20 in the next game against argubly the best team in the NBA currently.

The 4th quarter showed how much we need someone who can create their own shot on offense though, hence why Monta Ellis would be such a good acquisiton for us. Hedo filled that role 3-4 seasons ago, but he's certainly not good enough to do that anymore.

If Orlando can actually shoot that way come playoff time, they'll make it interesting in a series against Miami or Chicago. The problem is I don't see them playing hard enough over a 7 game series, everything pretty much has to go perfectly on offense and defense for them to win.

Any team in any league looks good when they shoot 15-20 in a quarter including 6-7 from 3. Hedo played really well for most of the game tonight.

Give Irving probably 2 seasons and he'll be the same caliber of player as Rose. Very similiar numbers to Rose's rookie season with better scoring numbers but a worse A/TO ratio. And he already shoots a better 3PT than Rose.

I think some experts are just really high on Irving because of the way he's been able to win games at the end on his own shot, which excites a lot of people with him being a rookie and all.

Yes, but not many teams in the league can actually do that, Orlando has the 3PT shooters to do so, hence why they can be really dangerous when everything is clicking for them (the 08-09 ECF series against Cleveland being a perfect example).

Having a lot of 3 point shooters doesn't make it any more likely that they'll all fall at the same time. Even the best shooters can only hit it at a 40% clip.

Streaky is probably a better way to put it then.

Orlando was only around 20% from 3PT territory against the Bobcats a couple of nights ago, that shows how they can get bogged down shooting jumpers (especially when Charlotte had the worst interior defense in the NBA).

So when they're not shooting well, they can look pretty bad on offense, especially when they don't get many fast break points either (which they actually out-scored the Bulls on IIRC).

Someone threw out this trade on a Magic board, and I think it makes a bit of sense. You'll have to add draft picks (going to New Orleans), but if the Magic are going to keep Dwight and not be able to get Ellis or Nash, this is the type of move they need to look at making instead.

I hope Felix has seen this because it is excellent.

Is it weird that I watched that and the first thing that went through my head was "Brad Miller is still in the league? And plays for the TWolves?"

Uhhh deng might have to sit a few games to rest his left wrist

In late January, when Luol Deng made his bold decision to skip surgery and play through a torn ligament in his left wrist, he knew there would be nights like this.

Nights when he felt like a one-handed player. Nights when the pain no longer seemed manageable.

That's why the Bulls' 99-94 defeat at the hands of the Magic, which ended the Bulls' eight-game winning streak, might not be the only loss from Thursday night.

After missing 8 of 9 shots, Deng, in more resigned than frustrated tones, admitted he might have to rest his injured wrist for a couple of games.

"I hate talking about my wrist, but I'm going to talk with the medical staff and Thibs," Deng said. "The past few games, it has escalated a little bit. We have to kind of bring it down again. I've been trying to avoid it and everything but it's a tough one."

Deng, who has made only 14 of his last 41 shots and even was replaced by seldom-used rookie Jimmy Butler, again emphasized he will not opt for surgery.

"I said it from the start: I'm not taking that route," he said. "Mostly it's going to be rest. It's definitely better than when I first did it and when I first came back. But there was a period of time when it felt great. The last few games, the pain is kind of high again. I have to control it and monitor it.

"I just have to find ways to adjust my game. I've proved I can play with it. Some days it's going to feel great. Some days it's going to feel terrible. We just have to bring it down."

Starting to think this team just can't stay healthy enough to make it.

I had the same thought.

I had that revelation last week watching a T-Wolves game. Seriously, the exact same reaction.

Yeah, D-Rose, CJ, Rip, Deng, and we all know Boozer is playing with fire.

We'll see... a loss to the hapless Magic in March coming off an 8-game win streak isn't something to get too worked up over. You won't see another 1st quarter like last night for a long time.

It's not the loss that gets me. It really isn't. It's the health. This team isn't beating the Heat with 3-4 guys hobbled or 1-2 guys missing, and you know that. They can get there but they aren't winning if they're undermanned. Maybe they could do without CJ and survive, but they aren't winning without a moderately useful Hamilton, they aren't winning if Deng's wrist is bothering him so bad he shoots 34% like he has over the past 4 games, they aren't winning if Rose is hobbled, etc.

They might even be in trouble if everyone is healthy, but if that's the first time all season they've been healthy, which is where it seems right now. And if the Bulls get the Pacers right before the Heat, which is entirely possible right now since they're hanging around that 4-5 spot, the Bulls are almost guaranteed to be beaten up.

Longtime basketball writer Roland Lazenby reports that Pau Gasol has been traded, but Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports refutes the report.

Lazenby offered no details on where he is going or for whom Gasol has been traded for, but is reporting that more information will be given shortly. Wojnaroski has said that while Houston has been close in pulling off a deal, there is nothing imminent.

Would Houston trade Scola for Gasol?

It would be Scola and Lowry. Lakers want a pg and they want more depth. They won't be doing any deal 1 for 1 involving Pau (unless its something ridiculously in their favor).

That would be my guess as well.

So this Gasol trade is either:

Lowry, Martin and Scola from Houston for Pau.

OR

Steph Curry, Wright, Biedrins and Lee from the Warriors for Artest, Pau and picks.

I don't understand why either team would do that trade.
