Vote4Pedro
QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) The Bulls have to sign him for the rest of the season. Can only sign a player to a 10 day twice. The Bulls have signed Mike James for a third time. James signed a 10-day contract and could be signed for the remainder of the season when this deal expires, according to sources. James has appeared in seven games during two previous stints with Chicago. Via K.C. Jenksismyhero
Hmm. Kinda surprising. Why not just get fired and accept your buyout check (or was his contract up after this year?)

I must say, any coach that can't adapt his system to get Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire more shots than Jeremy Lin doesn't deserve his job. Steve9347
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 02:34 PM) Honestly, do you really think the problem with the Knicks right now is that Anthony and Amare aren't shooting enough? Something like this should never happen. Melo and Amare combine for 22 shots while Lin tosses up 5/18 with 6 turnovers. Never. Not once is this acceptable. Those two are legit All-Star calibre players solely for their scoring, while Lin was picked up off the scrap heap. It. Should. Never. Happen. When you don't have the personnel to run through the PG, and you have those two guys, and you can't adjust to a different game, then you have a problem. MexSoxFan#1
While I agree with Steve that Lin shouldn't shoot so much, both Melo and Stat have sucked, both are having off years.

And I'd say the fact that both of those guys have generally sucked has been a much bigger problem for them than Lin.
Jenksismyhero
Agree in principle, but at least with Amare he tends to disappear at times so it's not surprising that he isn't getting his shots. Unlike with Lebron and Wade, who can coexist because of the transition game Miami plays, the Knicks have too much talent and the talent doesn't gel. To be effective Anthony needs the ball all the time. That doesn't work with a pick and pop offense.

Balta1701
In that case, is there any sort of team in the NBA where Carmelo can actually succeed? He would kill a passing PG by slowing the game down, he would kill a scoring PG by needing the ball in his hand himself, he would kill a team with a low post game by taking the ball out of the low post...it seems like the only way to structure a team where he could win is if the other 4 guys are there for defense and Carmelo is the only one who really provides offense (Funny, this sounds kinda like the team where he had the most success in Denver). He was pretty effective with Chauncey. That's because Chauncey could be an effective PG without needing the ball in his hands and was lethal from downtown. That's because Chauncey could be an effective PG without needing the ball in his hands and was lethal from downtown. The other thing I associate Chauncey (and George Karl) with is a pretty solid defense. Ditto Martin. Somewhat ditto Nene and Kleiza. Throw in JR Smith and we've covered most of that team. So basically, Melo needs to be paired with spotup shooters who can hit the 3 and also play defense, and big guys who rebound and play off of the ball. That's pretty rough. DBAHO is fapping atm Dwight Howard reportedly told the Magic during a meeting on Wednesday that he will opt-in for the final year of his contract, keeping him with the franchise through the 2012-13 season. I'm actually rather happy for DBAHO and the NBA right now.
