I'm happy were keeping the rights to Mirotic, but my worry is who plays the 1? I mean now we have Pujols, Howard and Noah who all play the 1. Thibs is going to have his hands full.

Pujols is only 6'3", I don't think he's going to be much of a rebounder.

Like I said, I'm a bit more confident after last night, but seriously the Bulls can't beat the Heat in 7 if they can't get their roster healthy. CJ being gone is one thing, but losing Rip hurts the entire setup because Brewer has to fill the starter role. ANd yeah, that Rose guy is kinda important.

People keep pointing to Brewer as a weak link. He's been incredible solid this year. He gets you 6-8 pts a game, timely rebounds, good defense and effort, and a couple of nice assists to boot. He's not really holding this team back at all.

For me last night was an indication that the Bulls are every bit as good as the Heat when they're both at less than full strength (I consider Bosh going 3-15 an abnormality, much like his 1-18 night last year). They have problems at center and point guard, but momentum from game to game can easily fix that. We all know Chalmers and Cole can hit big three's, they just weren't taking them last night. The question is what happens when Lebron and Wade get theirs (like they did last night) but Bosh is hitting those 18-20 foot jumpshots and actually crashing the boards. What happens when the Bulls don't shoot 70% or whatever from three?

My only complaint last night with Thibs was his refusal to put Gibson back in during the 4th. He stuck with Boozer far too long and it allowed Miami to stick around. There were three straight possessions where Lebron and Wade drove straight at Boozer and he did nothing to stop them. Gibson would have at least offered up a little resistance. Same with Asik.

I don't think people are down on Brewer, I just think they value him more as a member of the Bench mob. If Brewer is starting, it weakens our bench. Our bench is one of our best assets.

Yeah, Brewer isn't "holding this team back", but especially since Deng's usefulness as a scorer is lost with his wrist injury, the bench right now basically has Kyle Korver as a threat to make a shot. Gibson and Asik can get some dunks if you generate ball movement, and getting CJ back would help with that too...I'm not trying to be hard on Brewer I just would say that he'd be much more effective in the right role for him.

My biggest pet peev is before free throws, he has to hold the ball and squeeze it for a few seconds while everyone waits for him to give it to the ref. That and going up soft. I love watching Taj explode to the rim than we have Boozer on the other hand,

Where's Gage to defend him? ;)

I love Taj. Boozer is a good player though. He has flaws in his game but he's a good player.

Serious question: How much worse is this team without Carlos Boozer? I'm not sure I know the answer. He's a good player, but the flaws in his game prevent him from being the difference maker we were hoping for.

@chrisbroussard: Dwight Howard just texted me that he has signed the waiver of his Early Termination Option

Now they should trade his ass for a return from one of the teams not on his list!

Dwight Howard stays in Orlando, all the hype and drama before the deadline. I don't see any other significant trades will made today, this could be the most boring and overblown deadline ever.

so boring you said it twice

They're in desperation mode. They are completely f***ed now that Howard is staying in Orlando. Deron will likely bolt to Dallas this offseason, so they bring him in to upgrade from Stephenson.

It's not a great move, like I said, they're now talented enough to grab a playoff seed (if they stay as constructed for next year, which is doubtful, because Deron will be gone.

Deron/Farmar

Brooks/Morrow

Wallace/Green

Humphries/Green

Lopez

isn't awful, (though scoring down low will be quite easy for any team).

Honestly, Asik would look great on that roster.

That looks like a pretty solid lineup on paper.

expiring contract of injured Mehmet Okur, Shawn Williams, and 1st round pick to Portland for Wallace

top-3 2012 protected first round pick

Wow, the Nets are stupid. Have they SEEN Wallace play this year?? They likely just moved a lottery pick for a rapidly declining, 30 year old Gerald Wallace. They better hope they win the f***ing lottery.
