Soxbadger
Ive watched the game of basketball before. The statistics just do not support that Rondo torches the Bulls without Rose. When you have a 3 game sample and 1 of them is extremely different, I call that an outlier. Maybe Rondo will torch the Bulls, I just dont think that it will matter whether Rose is playing or not, it will entirely depend on if Rondo has career games. RockRaines
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 10:17 AM) I'm not sure he's wrong. Without a healthy Derrick Rose, this team would have a rough go even just in the first round. If they get the Celtics in round 2 and they have a 75% Rose or worse...they're going to lose that series. LOL, based on what? Check out their record without Rose, they are STILL better than almost every other team in the league, especially Boston. Balta1701
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 02:48 PM) LOL, based on what? Check out their record without Rose, they are STILL better than almost every other team in the league, especially Boston. Without Rose, I really worry this team is something of a paper tiger in the playoffs, no matter what their regular season marks. The lack of a regular way to generate offense without him and the weakness in the backcourt it creates might be things you can exploit more in a 7 game series than in a single regular season game. Two things that other teams cant exploit: The bulls superiority on the defensive end and on the boards. The Bulls are alot better than almost every team in the East. No paper tiger at all. Soxbadger
Bulls offense without Rose is different. If Korver/Hamilton can shoot well, the Bulls can score. The difference is the Bulls just cant get lazy on offense and then hope for an iso from Rose to bail them out. They just need good good off the ball movement. Up against playoff level intensity defense though, that ball movement can easily be lost because the defense is pressing you harder and playing more physical. RockRaines
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) Up against playoff level intensity defense though, that ball movement can easily be lost because the defense is pressing you harder and playing more physical. They've been up against that for weeks being the best team in the league. They constantly have a target on their backs and have faced that pressure against the other playoff contenders. Steve9347
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) Ive watched the game of basketball before. Your comments do not support this statement.
Soxbadger
You mean the statistically supported comment that Rondo hasnt torched the Bulls every game without Rose and in fact 2 of 3 games he basically played to his career norms? I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion, and maybe Rondo will play far beyond what he did in the regular season, but Rondo's season average is 12/12/5 His 3 games against the Bulls without Rose were: Feb 12: 32/15/10 Feb 26: 17/8/7 April 5: 10/12/4 My opinion is Feb 2 is an outlier, on Feb 12 and Feb 15, Rondo had 2 of the highest scoring games in his career back to back. Since then Rondo has only scored more than 20 points 1 time. Once again, not really sure where the evidence is that Rondo will torch the Bulls without Rose. Having 1 career game doesnt really correlate to that statement. So, where are you going with this? Because it seems factually, that Rondo doesnt torch the Bulls every game they dont have Rose. They're a finesse team that isn't very good. Actually seems like a perfect match up to me.
Balta1701
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 02:48 PM) Why not? They're a finesse team that isn't very good. Actually seems like a perfect match up to me. The last times they played the bulls, it wasn't a lot of finesse, they cranked down on the defense pretty hard and went after the Bulls. Since Rose wasn't in shape, that generated a ton of turnovers and another Rose injury.

Balta1701
Dewayne Wade has left the current Heat game with some sort of injury to his non-shooting hand. Wizards up 6 on the Heat, and if Wade is out, none of the big 3 are in.
