G&T
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) If a hard jumpstep is all it takes to ruin him, this injury was inevitable. Agreed. Nothing happened on that play that was out of the ordinary. Not that ROse should be in, but it's tough to say the injury wasn't inevitable. G&T
QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 03:38 PM) heres what little about this i know - when rose came down, his knee bent medially - could be a sprain of the MCL or more worriesome - could be the ACL.... while examining Rose, the last thing the trainer did was test roses knee for an ACL tear - what is known as the anterior drawer sign ....hard for me to say if the test was positive without actually being the one examining the knee, but looked to me like there was a bit of laxity on exam, and the fact that it was the last thing the trainer checked before they got Rose off the court, not a good sign obviously ptatc will know much more about this than I do Wouldn't they have immobilized the knee? GoodAsGould
Wouldn't it being the last thing checked be a good thing if anything, would make you think wasn't his main concern or he'd check it first.
daa84
QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 02:46 PM) Wouldn't they have immobilized the knee? not necessarily. with an ACL tear, most people are still usually able to walk on it. Its just that the knee is unstable - they encourage early movement to help keep inflammation down - I believe . like i said this is all speculation, but I just dont like the looks of it

thxfrthmmrs
If this knee injury is anything serious, Rose may never be the same player again. He's gone through toe, back, groin, foot, and ankle injuries this season, but the knee is the last body part I want to see damage on his body. Knee injuries has changed the careers of Brandon Roy, Oden, Jermain Oneal, Elton Brand, Mcgrady, Grant Hill, Michael Redd, Yao Ming and so on. As good as Chris Paul is this season, he is no longer the same player he was 3 years ago. And out of all those players, Rose requires his athleticism the most. At least point, I might actually prefer to shut him down the rest of the season to preserve his long term health.
daa84
Rose is going for an MRI At best this is a sprain of the MCL - the same injury Cutler had against GB, and rose is going to be out at least a couple weeks I also was slightly wrong about the test teh trainer did - he technically did the lachman test, as opposed to the anterior drawer test - both test the same thing but one is performed with the knee at 90 degrees, the other at 20-30 anyone who still has the video of the trainer with rose can look at it - heres a video explaining the test

Well among other things he had to know people were going to be attacking him for leaving starters in especially Rose after the injuries during meaningless minutes. Maybe now he will stop doing it after 2 years of people complaining.

Hopefully Goth's source is right and not just full of s***. hopefully he is correct about the part saying he should be ok - but the weight bearing part has 0 to do with it. People walk around for months on torn ACLs - if its his ACL though, i will say this - thibs and the team would know it now. The MRI is just confirmation, but they would be able to tell based on what rose says he felt and what the trainer found on exam Thibs Noah Kendall Gill and Korver all sound like their dog just died Edited April 28, 2012 by daa84
