I can hate on him for it. Winning isn't his #1 priority.

Who's to say he wouldn't be on a better team than the Clippers (assuming they would can VDN for a real coach, and somehow they keep Paul and Griffin).

Certainly the above scenario would look better than the Bulls without Deng IMO.

But the Magic are playing pretty good ball in the meantime, just finished a 4-0 road trip and we're 9-3.

If only we could somehow get an upgrade at PG (e.g would love Kyle Lowry), then I'd put us down as real contenders.

The Clippers he'd be in a good spot, but if Lakers are losing Gasol/Bynum and the Nets/Knicks are the other choices I don't see them being better situations.

but he doesnt want to go to Chicago. No reason to hate on him for that.

I called him a turd because now that the Clippers are enjoying their first actual success in 20 years he all the sudden added them to his list. He's a big b**** who doesn't care about anything but going somewhere fun so he can party. Just like 99% of the rest of these idiots.

There is no scenario that lands Dwight with the LAC that doesn't involve Blake.

Especially after the CP3 trade, what do they even have left worth offering?

They have to include DeAndre Jordan for $10 million to even get close to matching the cap number, but with his contract he's not going to save Orlando a cent, he's a 4 year $40 million commitment. Instead they have Maurice Williams with an expriing, but he's only at $8.5 million, so they'd need 2 players included to work with him. They don't have their valuable #1 pick any more. Billups and Foye are expirings, but who the heck cares, there's no obvious offer here that is remotely enticing without Griffin.

Exactly, and I guess that's what irks me about the situation. Howard, or Howard's people, nonchalantly add the Clippers to their list, basically sizing them up to see if they'll stick with their franchise star (or after the CP3 trade, maybe secondary? hard to tell their mindset) or if they'll deal him for Dwight. It just feels dirty, it feels like Dwight is trying to take a spot that Blake has earned and is still learning.

I'm sure I'm over-analyzing it, though. Blake is not Dwight, so I guess it'd be smart for the Clippers to entertain the idea. However, aside from being injured his first training camp, Blake is the first player to come through the Clippers and not become a complete and utter disappointment in forever, and trying to take his spot the moment they get a shiny new toy in CP3 just pisses me off.

He's another CP3.

He's no LeBron, obviously. But he's a pretty sweet consolation prize. I've never, ever seen this many electrifying PGs in the league all at the same time. Rose, Wall (who dropped 38 last night), Rondo, Deron, Irving, Paul, Westbrook, Conley, Lawson, Rubio and probably a couple others I'm forgetting.

All I remember was when Rose was drafted, everyone said "finding a good PG is impossible."

Well s***.

And Dwight's a b****. More than LeBron.

This is all within like a 5-year period. This s*** is crazy now. Also, this will be random. But I've seen enough: Steve Nash is the second greatest PG (behind Magic) to ever live. Dude is like 40 and still leading the league in assists. He's arguably the greatest shooter of all-time and has led one of the most efficient offensive attacks the league has ever seen yearly since '05.

Dwight Howard has added the Clippers to his list of preferred destinations, according to Chris Sheridan.

Howard had previously told the Magic that he would be willing to sign a long-term deal with the Nets, Mavericks and Lakers. Now the fast-rising Clippers are on his radar.

God, he's such a turd.

The Clippers would be one of the worst fits out there for Howard, unless they plan on trading Blake.

I've got Nash in the "#2 depending on what you're looking at" tier with Thomas, Stockton, Robertson, and Kidd.

My wrath goes to Wade, the second biggest traitor besides Zeke... :bang

I get that they're both from Chicago, but Thomas didn't openly flirt with the Bulls and then undermine them by calling them unloyal.

Also, both stayed with teams that drafted them, so neither are traitors...just Wade is a douche who slammed our org.

The reason I dislike Thomas was because he led the freeze out against MJ in his first All Star game and acted like a little b**** when the Bull

finally eliminated him and his team's dirtball tactics by walking out before the end of game 4 of that sweep...I guess traitor isn't the right word, so yeah, let's call him a douche too.

You must have been on a lot of drugs that summer.

that or those posts were drowned out by the "He can't win a title on his own" posts. Sports fans are cute, you're either a wuss for not being able to carry a team on your own, or you suck because you don't want to go to where the winning is at.

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id...-team-with-melo

Since the celebrated Carmelo Anthony trade 11 months ago, the New York Knicks have won 20 regular-season games and lost 21.

That doesn’t sound so great, but it gets worse:

  • The Knicks also lost four straight in the playoffs, winning none.
  • The Knicks didn’t get Chris Paul. Many fans and observers believed getting Melo put the Knicks closer to obtaining CP3, who is known to have wanted to play in New York. (Remember the famous wedding toast.) But by maxing out Melo, the Knicks made that nearly impossible. Now CP3 is a Clipper until 2013 and probably beyond.
  • The Nuggets are winning: They’re 26-12 since shipping out Melo, much better than the 32-25 record they posted with him last season.
  • The Knicks are 16th in Marc Stein’s Power Rankings, and ranked 20th in the NBA according to John Hollinger; the Nuggets are 8th for Stein, 11th for Hollinger.
  • The Knicks have a losing record and negative scoring margin this season despite having played the third-easiest schedule in the league.
  • The Knicks are ranked 22nd in offensive efficiency, even though Melo and Tyson Chandler are posting easily the highest PERs of their respective careers.
  • The Knicks would be seeded No. 8 in the East if the playoffs started today, and would play the top-seeded Bulls.
  • The Knicks don’t own their first-round draft pick in 2012 or 2014, and might have to swap 2016 first-round picks with Denver.
  • Danilo Gallinari, a rising young star the Knicks traded away along with five other players and three draft picks to get Melo, was a local favorite, and he criticized the trade last week, telling the New York Daily News, “I thought we were having a really good season [last year]. … People were having fun coming to see the games. … We had a positive record, the excitement was there.”

Maybe it gets better from here. Maybe they solves the chemistry issues. Maybe Baron Davis is the savior.

But facts are facts: The Carmelo Anthony Knicks aren’t very good.
