As promised in those earlier whispers that were then immediately forgotten about once they no longer served any purpose to the story, it seems as though AMC and Netflix really are bringing The Killing back for a third season. The much-maligned thriller series appeared to be done after its second season—which followed the first-season finale when most people simply decided it was done—but, in one of its signature last-minute twists that don't actually mean much to most people, it seems as though AMC is close to finalizing a deal that will put The Killing back on the network by sharing its costs with Netflix. It's an arrangement that recalls the way Friday Night Lights was rescued with the help of DirecTV, except that Friday Night Lights was a good show and deserved it. Anyway, the deciding factor that convinced AMC to give it another shot was reportedly "a strong third-season pitch" from showrunner Veena Sud, which we can only assume involved every character's sweater catching on fire in the first scene, then spending the season doing an altogether-different sort of slow burn.

Forgot to add my reaction:

For all of those that rec'd Breaking Bad over the summer, thanks. I recorded them all during that marathon, waited until early October to start, and finished up last week. I'd watch 3-4 at a time at certain points, it was addicting.

Can't wait to watch the last episodes "live" next summer.

I'm starting to think Breaking Bad should have ended after season 4.

I don't know if it should have ended, but there seemed to be an odd disconnect. Season 5 picked up and seemed random and also seemed to move really fast, it was entertaining so far but just odd.

Dexter loves his bad girls

I maybe in the minority but I am loving this season thus far. Lots of different dynamics this season that I believe the writers are doing a good job of handling. I even care about Quinn's storyline a bit.

No, I am into it. I am really interested in what happens with Isaac next week, especially the little meeting they have where Isaac says in different circumstances they could be great friends.

Quinn is doing a bunch of stupid stuff though. poor Batista knows it too

What the hell was that phone call at the end there? And are we supposed to believe that Lori's body was eaten by that walker? Rick seems to have lost his mind in that episode. And I'm confused as to why no one has seen Carol - wasn't she right next to an exit last week? I'm thinking there has to be other people somewhere else in that prison and that's where she is

I think this has been a fantastic bounce-back season for Dexter. It was f***ing terrible the last two years.

Nah, I think it's been a really good season too. Love how many times Dexter has messed up, and getting Deb involved.

Only problems I have had so far were Louis being killed off so abruptly when I thought he had a really interesting story and Issac being sent to jail and then taken out so quickly and easily. But this has been the best season since Trinity, IMO.
