Just watched the series finale of Awake....and all I have to say is....

Uhh......what?

I'll wait until the rest of you watch it Thursday night, but I have no idea how to feel right now, other than confused.

Can you use spoiler tag to let us know what happened?

I really liked the Modern Family season finale, outside of the stupid soap opera thing.

I liked the soap opera thing, it was awesome.

And I should post this in the book thread but the Game of Thrones series are the best books I have read in a long time. I am already almost done with Storm of Swords and I cant put the s*** down.

I thought it was a decent ending to the season as the show dropped off all year.

Also thought Mad Men was odd Sunday.

I'll try to explain what happened the best I can.....

So in the one life, Michael and his black partner go to the storage locker and find the heroine. Harper knew if the other captain went down, she would too, so she called him and asked him to meet in a motel to have sex. He checks in, goes to the room, she handcuffs him to the bed and shoots him in the head, then put the gun in his head like it was a suicide. So Michael comes back to the station, everyone believed him, and Harper says that he will be rewarded for his efforts in solving this big mystery or whatever.

In the other life, Hawkins finds Michael next to the dumpster, bleeding, and carries him to the car. Michael wakes up in the back seat of the car hearing Hawkins talking to his captain saying he will just finish the job and then have a "friendly" investigation to sweep away the evidence. Michael then proceeds to start kicking Hawkins in the head, and he crashes the car. Michael gets out, takes Hawkins gun, but does not shoot him, just handcuffs him to the steering wheel and runs away. He breaks in to his asian therapists house and, at gun point, leads him to the storage locker to prove the drugs are there. When he arrives, he finds there are no drugs, so he locks the therapist in the locker. He ends up calling Vega and tells him what is going on. Vega meets him somewhere and brings him to Vega's house to rest. Michael tells Vega to explain the whole thing to Harper, she will help him (He didn't realize from the other life that Harper was actually a bad person, so he wrongly trusts her). Harper tells Vega his stories are bulls***, and the therapist is at the station and convinces Vega that Michael is insane and has been telling these lies for a while not. Vega agrees, and gives up Michael. While in prison, Harper comes to visit Michael and says she is going to get him the help he needs. Her phone then goes off, and the name "Munte" shows up. Michael realizes that this name is the same name that the other captain used to check in to the motel he was killed in, and has been checking in to that motel under that name for a while. And the card he used somehow was traced back to Harper. Michael then realizes Harper was responsible for this all, and he attempts to choke her to death in the cell. Guards intervene with a stun gun. He then wakes up and is told he has a visitor. He walks over to the phone, and the man that sits down is himself (which i totally predicted would be the visitor). They talk about needing to stop Harper.

Michael then has these weird visions where he is watching what happened in the motel with Harper and the other captain. Vega is there watching with him, in a penguin costume. Vega points out that Harper broke the tip off her heel, and the evidence is still in the motel room. Michael then snaps back to his other life and informs the police that Harper is really the bad person, and they find the piece of her heel in the motel room. Michael then goes to talk to Harper and tells her he figured it all out. He pulls his gun in her office and looks at if he will shoot her. But after Bryd starts banging on the door, he puts the gun away and lets them arrest her. He then tells his lady therapist what is going on. She is very happy and tries to point out that Michael's mind is finally showing him how crazy this "other life" is by including Vega in a penguin costume, and explaining that it proves the other world isn't real. Michael then proceeds to tell her he thinks simply that was just a dream he had. She questions if it was a "dream within a dream" *cue Inception horn*, and that she thought he was going to break through, but he is simply regressing now. Mid conversation with her, her body stops moving. Michael gets up, and a door behind her opens, on the other side is his bedroom. He walks in to his bedroom and sees himself laying down. He lays down on top of himself, and then they morph together and he wakes up again.

He then walks downstairs and the house appears empty. Then all the sudden Rex comes up and asks if he is ready to drive him to school. Then suddenly Hannah walks around the corner and makes a joke. Michael is so relieved to magically have his whole family back. The camera zooms in on him, he smiles, and it goes black. Credits.

So there it is. Very long detail of the episode. I may have confused a few parts in there, but that's the gist of it. No explanation really.

Calling a celebrity little person an "imp" is like using the N word.

You clearly do not watch Game of Thrones. Peter Dinklqge owns the title of "The Imp" rather proudly.

I liked it. It was a little unsatisfying, but I thought they did a good job bringing it to closure under what I have to presume were rushed circumstances. Taking a page out of the "Dallas" and "Newhart" storybook (ie. the whole thing was just a dream) was probably their best play.

You are correct. It just seems kind of unpleasant though.

I know the complete and utter origin of the word since the time it was used in any form of literature... or how about common usage in general. The word imp had a complete opposite meaning of what i believe you think it currently means.

Much more realistic than the garbage steve spewed in the movie thread about sequals.

I had an eight paragraph response typed up to respond to his juvenile response and... bam...all gone, power was out for nearly a week in my area. So those eight... will now be twelve... currently i am waiting for a cute/quipy comment from him... as usual.

Yours truly, one of your biggest fans!.

Congrats on the blog btw, i sleep in about two hours a day, in the form of intervals, and reading that blog of your tends to do the trick.

The nausea i can deal with, though it ends up subsiding. Good day. Best of luck to you! Muah!

Grown man in the little boys body, damn shame it is.

Is that what they were trying to portray though, that it was a dream? I couldn't recall when Rex said something about going to register if that meant he was back to the day before the accident or whatever. Didn't remember when "registration" occurred in the storyline for them.
