RockRaines
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 24, 2012 -> 12:17 PM) The Red Wedding is awesome, even if you know it's coming. Agreed, I knew it was coming and it was still a shock how it happened.
Steve9347
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 24, 2012 -> 12:10 PM) I need to find the next two from somewhere. I read Clash of Kings on vacation and storm of swords since sunday (almost done). Do you have a kindle or nook? Or even a nook or kindle app for Android or iPad? If you do, I can hook you up. Heads22
I had downloaded "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" after reading Catcher in the Rye for the first time and hearing favorable comparisons. I now see it's being turned into a movie, but I'm giving this one a try. It's engaging enough.

ChiSox_Sonix
So i just finished A Dance With Dragons. Wow. Talk about cliffhangers Some thoughts (obviously some heavy spoliers) -Jon Snow is not dead. He just can't be. Or can he? I firmly believe he is the child of Rhaegar and Lyanna and will be one of, if not the main, focal point in the final book. However, GRRM has stated we will explore the Land of Always Winter in the next book - but how? The Others only allow wights there. Will it be through a Jon POV as Ghost? Through Jon as an undead Coldhands type of wight? I hope not, but I could see it. -Dany is getting that khalasar back and that is how she will retake Meereen. -Aegon is alive! Oh Varys you tricky bastard. I thought the two Targaryen contingents would have met up but obviously that was not the case. I could see Doran marrying Arianne to him to tie his faction to Dorne, especially now with Quentyn dead. -I loved the Barristan flashback POVs and hope we see more of him. -I cant' tell whether I like what is going on with Bran or not yet. So he's starting to see through trees now too? -One of the queens will die. I dont know what one, but either Cersei or Margery will be found guilty. And Robert Strong is totally undead Gregor Clegane. -Arya's time in Bravos has seemed pointless to me. I don't enjoy her chapters anymore. -Can't wait to find out what Brienne is going to do with Jaime. I don't think not-Cat will kill him. Not yet at least -Tyrion finally is "free" again. Obviously he is trying to persuade Ben Plumm to re-join Dany but she is gone. What side is he going to end up on? I can't see him joining the ironmen. -Ramsey Bolton is one evil, cruel, f***ed up son of a b****. But buy were Theon's chapters entertaining. -SO excited for the battle in the north at Winterfell and what will presumably happen at or beyond the wall with the Others. Battle of Slaver's Bay intriguing but not so much. Although I do want to know how the dragons are going to be controlled, and by whom. Waiting for this next book is going to suck Edited May 31, 2012 by ChiSox_Sonix

Hope it shakes out. For as bad of reviews as it got, the book was actually pretty good. There isn't a ton of action, and some stuff is dragged out, but if youre really into the series then it's still quite good. And agreed, the first chapter was confusing, just stick with it. Waiting for this next book is going to suck You're definitely right about Jon. He's the combination of ice and fire and has to be one of the head's of the dragon. I don't think Aegon's a true Targ. I think both he and Varys are Blackfyre's. Bran might be a head of a dragon. Bloodraven (his mentor) is a bastard Targ. It's going to be interesting to see how that plays into the whole story. I think most of the answers to everything were revealed in the house of the undying and Selmy's flashbacks.

Brynden may teach him how to warg into a dragon and that could be how he or Jon controls one Blackfyres are Targaryens though, just not full. That could very well be, Varys's word is all we have to go on that he switched the babies, although we do learn through Selmy that the child Tywin presented as Aegon was unrecognizable. How do you think we are going to explore The Land of Always Winter? I think an easy answer is Benjen, but GRRM said he did not plan on introducing any new POVs (did he mean to the story or new to POV?). I hope it is not Jon as an undead coldhands type of wight. I'm going to say Bran learns to warg into the wights and since they are the only creatures permitted into the LoAW that is how we will see it.
