ChiliIrishHammock24
I still can not figure out how the hell he communicates, or rather, how a sensor that detects his cheek muscles could possibly figure out what he is trying to say. Brian
I read his wiki page out of boredom today. Interesting.

ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 11:10 AM) That was actually not bad. Watch the Darth Vader vs. Hitler. It's better.
Texsox
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) I still can not figure out how the hell he communicates, or rather, how a sensor that detects his cheek muscles could possibly figure out what he is trying to say. As I understand it, it is actually predictive text, he is clicking letters until the correct ones pop up. In a TED Talk it took him 7.5 minutes to complete an answer live. Still cool, but less amazing to me.
SoxAce
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 12:31 PM) Watch the Darth Vader vs. Hitler. It's better. Meh.. the flow wasn't nearly as good. And Vader crushed him, so it wasn't as close.
Balta1701
The biggest mystery in the universe perplexing one of the world's best known scientists is -- women. When New Scientist magazine asked "Brief History of Time" author Stephen Hawking what he thinks about most, the Cambridge University professor renowned for unraveling some of the most complex questions in modern physics answered: "Women. They are a complete mystery." Link
Swingandalongonetoleft
Space and our origins have always fascinated me. I've read and re-read all of Hawking's books. Excellent stuff. Hope he sticks around a bit longer.
Jake
It would have to be so damn tedious and slow to articulate any kind of thought that it would be near maddening, especially if you could remember a time in which you could simply speak or type with your fingers.
