Dick Allen
QUOTE (GREEDY @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) I kind of got he feeling from listening to the interview that Jake basically has come to grips with he fact that he just doesn't have it anymore. I didn't get that at all. The guy was less than a year from major surgery. There were times he was dominant for a while. He was hitting a wall at about 60 pitches. I don't expect him to win the Cy Young, but it wouldn't surprise me if he winds up the Sox #1 or #2 starter next year. It won't be enough to pick up his option, but it may be enough to unload him at the deadline if the Sox have no chance.

Marty34
QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 02:40 PM) They both are, but only one is still on the White Sox payroll. Ozzie is yesterday's news. Agreed.

ptatc
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 09:40 PM) Peavy is 110% talk. You couldn't be more wrong. The guy had an injury that no one has ever returned from and pitched again at the MLB level. He worked his a@# off to get back. I don't know if he'll ever be an effective pitcher again but you cannot fault how hard he worked to get back. You can rip on the results but not the effort. Milkman delivers
QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 10:11 PM) If Peavy wants me to like him, he can start by pitching 7+ quality innings. This. I'm not fan of Guillen, as we all know. But Peavy might want to shut the f*** up and contribute something at some point before he runs off at the mouth. Milkman delivers
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 07:31 AM) Joe has already painted himself in the corner putting Peavy on his all man team and saying the issues Peavy had were with Cooper. The more that comes out, the more uninformed Joseph becomes. He'll tweet the White Sox beat writers know the truth crap. Too bad he doesn't. Oney reporting not a lot of people like Jake and Ozzie doesn't start fights he justs finishes them. Also wonders why people don't just let Ozzie be. Coming from the guy that went after Teahen's wife, its priceless. The Guillens are quite funny. They talk about their father like kids at a playground. They still think Ozzie is the toughest person alive, whereas I'm fairly certain that he's probably weak. He's a little guy.
elrockinMT
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 07:48 PM) The inner squabbles seem to have been going on for at least 2-3 years and getting worse each year. At least from the point that Oney had to get fired, that's when the public face of it sure became obvious, and it started really seeming to affect the play of the team at that point. I do agree that the Oney issue seemed to be the turning point

You are a good guy Dave - thanks again for the advise about the break. Here's to Peavy having success this year ( hopefully )

flavum
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 10:46 AM) Jake Peavy needs to STFU and pitch. Nothing else needs to be said. I think I'm done listening to whatever Peavy and Cooper have to say because whenever I hear them talk now, I come away thinking they're both assholes. It doesn't mean they can't be good at their jobs and I'm not rooting for them, but they both say things in the wrong way, way too often. Marty34
I'm sure it's tough for him, but Peavy isn't a guy that can be counted on and thus can't be looked at as a leader. He should decline all interview requests for the rest of his time with the Sox.
Texsox
One Ozzie is enough for any organization, the problem becomes, he spawns orthers to be just like him, and that will not work long term.

Milkman delivers
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 01:11 PM) Hah, come on, Milk...don't you think it's a bit ironic that message board contributors are going to tell a player to stfu and contribute something? No? Because I'm not looked upon to contribute to the team on the field. This is the same argument that's happened a few times on this site, and I find it retarded each time. Don't get mad at the team because they're trying, don't say a player sucks because he's better than we could ever dream to be, etc.

I can understand that. Ozzie should've just said something true, like he's a broken-down, glass athlete who used to be good.
