LOL, I start looking at team cap figures, and immediately find an article at NY Jets Cap.com from today analyzing whether the Jets could take on Peyton Manning next year. Almost if something motivated the author to write it last night...

One of my friends mentioned it last night before you.

Probably overheard him.

I don't disagree with you about that. In the NFL, the QB gets too much of the credit or too much of the blame. People see the 1-4 record to start the year, then the 4-1 record since Tebow took over. Add in the 2 late comebacks vs. MIA & the Jets, and people see him as a winner leading his team on, despite his inability to throw a football.

This exact phenomenon really bugs the s*** out of me. For some reason at the same time people are starting to realize that "wins" isn't a good stat in baseball and look at more pitcher-dependent stats, NFL fans and media seem to be giving way more credit to quarterbacks for "winning".

It was easier to ignore when it was just in the Brady/Manning debate or when they were talking about Roethlisberger's standing historically, but with Tebow it's getting really ridiculous. You didn't hear s*** about McGahee's monster game against Oakland or Von Miller and the defense in the other wins, it's all f***ing Tebow. It drives me nuts, it's not all on him.

Injuries happen, no way of predicting them.

That said, still unreal:

Colombo: Out for the season in his first game, right?

Williams: Out for the season his entire rookie year

Carimi: Out for the season 6 quarters into his rookie year

IIRC Columbo went out against either Dallas or St Louis(it was a dome team) and it was between the 4th and 6th game of the season.

im probably 100 percent wrong

edit: against the Rams on November 18th.

i will never forget the slow mo replay of him getting rolled up and being able to see his knee dislocate in detail, it was horrific

http://chicago.sbnation.com/chicago-bears/...oit-lions-fines

Player Reason Amount

D.J. Moore fight $15,000

Nick Fairley roughing the passer $15,000

Earl Bennett uniform (orange shoes) $10,000

Matthew Stafford fight $7,500

Rob Sims late hit $7,500

Kyle Vanden Bosch fight $7,500

Bunch of bulls***. DJ Moore gets double stafford, no Suh fines, and earl bennet pays more for shoes than stafford for trying to end someones career.

I don't get it, why can't he wear orange shoes?

You can only wear shoes that are the primary colors of your team. The Bears didn't choose orange as one of their primary shoe colors this season. So he gets fined. Stupid rule is stupid.

One problem with the last 2 is that both of them were injuries that the player had suffered before (I don't know about the first).

I'm starting to wonder if Angelo is targeting linemen who he thinks have a chance to be top flight linemen, but he's always in the mdidle/latter part of the first round, so the only top flight line candidates he finds are ones who had an injury that can come back to bite them.

i think Angelo's strategy is to try and find diamonds in the rough, period. He rarely takes the suggested or safe pick, he is constantly trading down and then drafting players above their suggested draft position(danielle manning, michael haynes, grossman), his idea of finding an OL the past few years has been extremely low draftees and then throw them at Tice to coach them up, or to draft players with injury history(carimi, williams) and cross his fingers.

Brad Biggs posted this an hour or so ago on twitter :

Current #Bears 53-man roster includes 8 players that were drafted in Rounds 1 thru 3 by GM Jerry Angelo from 2002 thru 2011.

how many of the players NOT on the roster are still in the NFL? i bet not that many
