Lions aren't making the playoffs after starting 5-0.

it seems silly, but the Lions lost their tough guy edge when Schwartz got butthurt because of Harbaughs hard handshake/slap. They went from scary tough guy to schoolyard bully that will go away crying if you punch him in the nose. A tale of two seasons for them.

I'm not a fan of the EB signing because it's just going to give the Bears more excuse to ignore the possibility of adding a legit #1 WR threat for another 4 f***ing years.

Even with Bennett, that has to be the Bears #1 need going into this offseason, unless there is something longer-term at the QB spot.

This is the Bears. They went with the idea that Devin Hester was a #1 for 4 seasons. Earl Bennett is our Megatron.

I'd rather have Bennett playing X than Williams though, honestly, if that's what it was

You don't think it has more to do with Jahvid Best getting hurt?

it has definitely hurt, but look at the Packers game. that is their season in a nutshell. They were hanging with the Packers for the first half, controlling the ball, moving the ball. Stupid penalties and turnovers jump up and bite them, and all the sudden Suh pulls his little stunt. They have no poise, they do not deal with adversity well at all. When things dont go their way they try and hurt people(Fairley driving Cutler into the ground, Stafford throwing DJ Moore by his helmet). They should have been able to get past losing Jahvid Best. A team with a prolific passing attack like they were showing during the 5-0 start should have been able to plug in another back and continued on, but they didnt.

It's definitely been a combination of things. The penalties have caught up with them. They haven't been throwing touchdowns to Megatron. They've had an inconsistent running game. They had an unsustainably low turnover rate. Teams were getting up on them but not putting them away.

They should have lost to Minnesota and Dallas and been 3-2, which would make them 5-6 right now, actually, and they could have very easily lost to Carolina, who was up 24-7 on them at one point...

I like the Bennett extension, the guy can ball. He's a legit #2 WR in this league.

Absolutely. By far the best WR we have on the team. Lets hope the Bears can actually give Cutler a legit #1 next year. Hell, I'll take a #2 to develop as well if that means Bennett can be in the slot as our #3 (our own reliable Wes Welker). Bennett is fine as a #2/3 though.

If you look at their schedule also...they had a weak opening and then hit some big games right around November.

Police in Oregon say Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh crashed his car into a tree in downtown Portland, but was not injured.

Police say Suh was not impaired and was cooperative with officers following the accident at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday. Suh lost control of the 1970 Chevrolet Coupe he was driving, which then hit a curb, light pole, drinking fountain and tree. His vehicle was towed from the scene.

i think palko is replaced after his first turnover

I'd agree with this. Or even after missing receivers. I wish Orton was playing. Kind of a contradiction KC is pulling. They picked Orton off waivers because they thought they had a chance in the AFC West still. But they're playing Palko instead who is terrible.
