Colts games were getting unwatchable the last year or two anyway. I was getting sick of Peyton, turning into Favre #2, no thanks.

I loved watching Peyton versus whatever the defense was throwing at him, especially a creative defense.

The crappy thing is that it only takes on bad year to end up with a player like that. It sure worked for the Spurs years ago.

If Peyton comes back next year, does the "comeback player of the year" move, and the Colts also receive a high draft pick that can step in and play during Peyton's final 3-4 years, say like one of the Defensive ends, wide receivers, or cornerbacks...that could really be a key stroke for them.

"As previously stated on Monday, Sept. 5th, Peyton Manning has undergone further testing and consultation with several specialists regarding his rehabilitation. The results of these tests and the consensus of the consultations was that further surgery was warranted. Peyton has undergone this surgery today by having a single level anterior fusion. The surgery was uneventful.

"This procedure is performed regularly throughout the country on persons from all walks of life, including professional football players. Two former Colts players had this same procedure last winter and have fully resumed their careers. Rehabilitation from such surgery is typically an involved process. Therefore, there will be no estimation of a return date at this time. We will keep Peyton on the active roster until we have a clearer picture of his recovery process.

"Peyton will immediately begin the rehabilitation regimen mapped out by the surgeon. We anticipate no further updates or availabilities beyond those required by the NFL Media Policy for the immediate future.

"Thank you for your consideration."

I still can enjoy his football skill & talent, it was more the constant crying at the refs or at his teammates at such. It seemed to be happening way more recently, kind of looked like a prima donna on the field a bit IMO.

And the Colts have none of that. They just have a lot of wins over the last 10 years, so people jumped on to the bandwagon.

Who cares? They support a good product. You're a White Sox fan and you want to rip that kind of stuff?

I think that's just the cameras trying to find that.

Doesn't he have a right to catch the ball? Seems like he was going for it, and any contact was incidental. He almost caught it. I wouldn't say it was a terrible call though. It was questionable.

Anyway, I was surprised at the saints ability to score and move the ball on the pack. I hope that's how the packers defense really is.

He looked confused out there a few times, and took on the wrong player, but I didn't see him getting blown up like I did last year,

See: last play of the game. Kreutz got completely blown up by Ryan Pickett, got no push, and left Ingram to jump head first into 3 defenders. Kreutz fail.

If you are a life long Colts fan this really sucks. He isn't going to last forever. The most difficult thing for any team to do these days is draft a QB. I believe the talent coming out of college has really regressed in the 10 years. Angelo was smart in giving up those picks for Cutler. They most likely would have been wasted on QB busts.

The Colts have been fortunate to have 3 franchise QBs in their history with Unitas, Jones and Manning. They could use an Earl Morrall right now.

I hope they don't plan on playing him when he returns. They might as well go for a better pick in the draft.

Now I wish baseball season would go another month. I'm starting to get turned off by the NFL with their over hype.

Give some props to MLB for allowing fans to watch games on the web for a decent fee instead of forcing people into an over priced TV package.

There's no point for me to watch the NFL, so bring on the NHL.

Yup, if this season goes into the s***ter, I'd like to see them take Peyton's replacement.

Oh, must have missed that. I changed the channel right away in frustration.

Only way that's the right call is if you don't think he'll be able to play out this contract for health reasons.

If the season is a total loss and they're staring at a top 5 pick, and they are confident that Peyton Manning has 4 more good seasons in him...then get that team the extra weapon.
