southsider2k5
http://www.csnchicago.com/blog/whitesox-ta...rce=twitterfeed By Jake Peavy Special to CSNChicago.com With spring training right around the corner, I am ready and eagerly anticipating the fresh start. I love getting back to Spring Training to see all the boys, but the best part is the anticipation that comes with it. Every club and every player has a new beginning and an optimistic outlook on the upcoming season. It's where you can put aside the past and move ahead full speed with excitement and promise of a new season. Robin Ventura brings a fresh face, energy and style to our club. He was an incredible player who embodied fierce competitiveness and tenacity. He played the game the right way and I am excited about what he brings to our club as our new manager. I believe the AL Central is a great division, but does not always get the hype deserved. Just look at what the Tigers did last year beating the mighty Yankees, so to speak, in the playoffs. Kansas City has a great squad full of young promising talent, and you can never overlook the left-handed bats that Cleveland sends to the plate. With that being said, we have our work cut out for us to make a run at a division title. Do I feel we have the talent capable of doing so? Absolutely! However, we do need some great bounce-back years from guys who have performed at All-Star caliber levels in the past, myself included. With finally being healthy and an off season not filled with rehab, I feel I can return to the level of play I have in the past. Follow me on twitter @JakePeavy_44 and Facebook. See y'all this weekend at Soxfest 2012.
LittleHurt05
That's great and all Jake, but I'd like to see it on the mound please.
Balta1701
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 10:22 AM) That's great and all Jake, but I'd like to see it on the mound please. It's fluff piece time of year. Stop being frustrated by the fluff pieces and enjoy the fact that spring training is almost here!

Stop being frustrated by the fluff pieces and enjoy the fact that spring training is almost here! And if it bothers people that bad, quit reading anything White Sox or baseball related until about the middle of April.

Stop being frustrated by the fluff pieces and enjoy the fact that spring training is almost here! Yeah, yeah, I know. I think it's just cause it's coming from Jake, Mr. "Rah-Rah" who is always talking but has contributed little in his time in Chicago. Obviously he's not gonna come out and say negative things, so it is what it is.
Steve9347
Oh God, Jake. STFU already. It's the same old s*** all the time.
ChiSox_Sonix
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) Oh God, Jake. STFU already. It's the same old s*** all the time. I know. I'd much rather hear him pouting and complaining and refusing to acknowledge he hasn't performed as expected. Why can't he just come out and say we are doomed and shouldn't bother tuning in to the Sox this year. He should just tell everyone to stay away, you know, to save some money and time. That's what he should be doing!

Swingandalongonetoleft
Jake Peavy- Giver of the troof As for fluff pieces, could be worse... Hardball Talk has been going at it full speed ahead since before the last pitch of the season was thrown.
Balta1701
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 11:03 AM) No. He should just STFU and pitch. So that we can all read the angry posts/articles about how Jake Peavy is refusing to talk to the media despite his huge salary and ineffectiveness! iamshack
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 11:13 AM) So that we can all read the angry posts/articles about how Jake Peavy is refusing to talk to the media despite his huge salary and ineffectiveness! I have a feeling the Club asked him to do this...I can't see him deciding to just say this randomly on his own.

sunofgold
Go Jake. I am with you. I am ready to bounce back and have a better season. I am going to run faster and fight harder for more foul balls this season.
Soxfest
I see 2 DL stints and a September shut down in 2012.
Balta1701
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) I see 2 DL stints and a September shut down in 2012. Look at the bright side, if he hits the DL, the Sox should get some more money back for him from the insurance policy.
JorgeFabregas
The extraneous "so to speak" bothers me. CSN Chicago surely has a copy editor look over these things, so to speak.
greg775
Can u imagine if Peavy, Danks, Floyd and Sale were great starters? We'd have a great season unless our always overrated bullpen wrecked it for them every game.

Or if, of course, our hitters continue to mostly suck.
