Soxbadger
No thread on state of union, but I think Obama may be going clever here. After WWII taxes were extraordinarily high.
Soxbadger
So far pretty good start for Obama. Most of the reforms about outsourcing etc are the type of populist ideas that you can never go wrong with. Kind of unfair, but thats why incumbents so rarely lose. I mean who isnt going to clap for "MORE AMERICAN JOBS". This type of Obama is going to be hard to beat.
SuperSteve
Is the trade pieces poli-talk? I feel like both sides of the aisle take tough stances on Asian trade (China) in the run up for election then take a softer stance once in office. I wonder how many claims with the WTO we have already made.

SuperSteve
Obama's good. He included himself in the 1% while Romney has tried to appeal as working class. I'm not a Democrat but that was wise. I'm impressed.

Soxbadger
Obama pulls the Im wealthy and understand why I need to pay more taxes card. 98% always beats 2%, its just up to the 98% to realize which side at the end of the day actually is willing to put their money on the line for the US. farmteam
On its face, keeping elected officials from holding stock in companies in industries they impact would be incredibly hard to implement. Also, taking (some) enforcement away from the SEC? I like.
