If he went to another D-1 school, he would have to sit out a year. If anything, he will go to a D-1AA or FCS or whatever its called school.

You really have to do something bad to get kicked off of LSU, especially as a Hesiman finalist.

So he really didn't get kicked off of the football team, he got kicked out of school.

I dont know if we'll get that info since you cant really get that private information but thats what a couple of sources said.

It would make sense since an SEC school almost never kicks off its key player unless its REALLY REALLY necessary.

Sometimes you can have the world, and still manage to piss it away. What an idiot.

He will still get his chance in the NFL. I don't think he was super high on draft boards anyway. He could be a special kick returner, but he's kind of short to play CB.

Too small to be a safety not a good enough corner to play in the NFL. Tweener but a good return man.

Obviously he will...but I'm just thinking about the chance to win a Heisman and a National Championship and be playing at a big-time program on scholarship. Not many people have that chance to piss away. Only get once chance at those things.

And the free college degree. Oh, wait...

The last thing the Lions are going to do is pick a player with problems like this. Remember, they passed on the talented Janoris Jenkins last year.

WalterFootball.com has him ranked as the 4th-best corner in this year's draft and had him going just outside the first round. I'm not sure how far he'll far but I can't feel sorry for the players that want to throw it all away.

Jovon Robinson under review

Updated: August 10, 2012, 8:52 PM ET

Associated Press

AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn freshman running back Jovon Robinson is being held out of practice while the NCAA investigates allegations that his high school transcript was falsified.

Athletic department spokesman Kirk Sampson said Friday that Robinson's academic status is being reviewed.

Memphis City Schools said in a statement that NCAA officials contacted the school district Tuesday regarding allegations involving a former Wooddale High School athlete. The statement said schools superintendent Kriner Cash ordered an immediate investigation and that a school guidance counselor resigned after admitting to creating the fake transcript.

The Memphis Commercial Appeal first reported the allegations Friday.

The statement did not identify the counselor or the student.

"Know that the District has clear and strict policies and procedures regarding student transcripts," the school district statement said. "Academic fraud is not and will not be tolerated and will be dealt with swiftly and accordingly."

Robinson was one of Auburn's top prospects, and had a chance to contribute in a backfield trying to replace starter Mike Dyer. The 6-foot-1, 220-pounder is easily the biggest of Auburn's tailbacks and would bring a physical presence to the backfield if he's eligible.

Messages left by The Associated Press at the school were not returned.

Emails sent to guidance counselors, head coach Keith Spann, assistant football coach Michael Collins and the school principal, Michael Kyle, were not returned.

A phone number listed for Spann was disconnected.

One of the top Buckeyes insiders just came out with the notion that the hammer is about to fall and fall hard on Oregon.

Not surprised. There were rumblings about it last season. You have to imagine the Nike money flows freely there

He knew a little beforehand on some other violations so it carries some weight. It will be interesting to see if it really happens or if its a slap due to money.

Rumored from a Ducks insider:

CAA is close to delivering their verdict, and it's not nearly what we were hoping for, or what we thought we'd see 2 months ago. The lowlights:

4 years probation

2 year bowl ban

30 scholarships over 3 years

No off campus recruiting for Campbell or Pellum in 2013

And there are questions, regarding DATs eligibility, but that is not resolved, and will be rolled into a separate investigation.

Announcement was supposed to come today, but will likely not be released by the NCAA or UO until later in the week.
