Soxbadger
Obama checks on his kids to make sure they are breathing, I do that with my cats, Im obama. 4 more years, 4 more years. I really wish she would have held up 4 fingers like Hunger Games (I know its only 3) but that would have been a hilarious move to silence the crowd. We are playing a long game, you wont see the results for 100 years, but I promise they are going to be great, your grand children will tell you about them in their prayers. StrangeSox
What do you do if your opponent isn't just wrong, but is determined to lie and keep on lying? You ignore him, and talk among your friends. I'd say there was plenty of that even before the brave new "fact-checkers" came along, but for the sake of a dumb marketing gimmick--pants-on-fire, four Pinocchios--they're making things worse. Seething intolerance for the other side's point of view is the main thing wrong with American politics right now. The "fact-checkers" sure didn't start it, but they've made themselves part of the problem. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archiv...ication/261945/

Ryan's problem is hes a dork and dorks arent good at lying because they were always snitching. Damn I just looked that up and GQ already called him a dork and didnt trust him because they dont believe he smoked weed. None of my material is original anymore. This is bulls***. Depends on how you define parents. TV was my parent. It taught me, nurtured me, provided me warmth, put me to bed at night, provided me role models, taught me how to kiss, taught me how to shave, taught me how to dance, tie a tie. Oh sweet sweet tv. Jake
QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 11:03 AM) Romney's plan might actually offer some short-term love. Unpaid for dramatic tax cuts and huge spending on defense will provide a boost to the economy. Of course, it would be atrocious for the deficit, but that's never been a concern now has it? Soxbadger
Well Im done with mocking this nonsense for tonight. Ill give the 5-10 minutes I watched a solid 4 out of 10. Areas for improvement: 1) Call me the greatest generation. As a child I overcame communism, I have overcome 9/11, Iraq War, Afghan War, banning of bath salts, break up of guns n roses and this economic fiasco. Dont wait until Im 70 and I dont care anymore, say it now. Greatest generation, woooooooooo! 2) Quit using the word sacrifice, no one likes the word sacrifice. Im also including difficult decisions as a banned word. Just say "We will make the right decisions and endure."
Soxbadger
Jake, I didnt drink at all and no cocaine. I just think these speeches/conventions are hilarious. Soxbadger
My impression of the picture posted by Mr. Genius and his wikipedia article (Im extremely informed as you can tell), was that he didnt do enough drugs for me to trust him. And that he was only 38, and then I thought about where I would be when I was 38 and why wasnt I a Mayor of a city. And then I remembered that I did enough drugs for me to trust me, so that answered my own question.
Jake
He has a great story, but he really needed to get away from the Latino-related discussion. The general idea of opportunity and investing in social mobility is great, but he kept drawing parallels to Latino immigrants and their issues. That isn't how you win people over, especially when you yourself are Latino. I certainly agree with his sentiments, but when you're trying to win an election you need your keynote speaker to quit distracting from his main point. Too many voters are going to forget the idea that we want to give everyone a chance to succeed, etc. because they keep going back to their own thoughts on immigration. Even folks that are on the more liberal end of the spectrum on immigration aren't generally eager to hear the issue being pushed so near the forefront of the Democratic agenda, though in reality it probably wasn't meant to be.
