Don't change the argument to scheduling. It was about "no reason not to play"

It was "no reason not to play TOMORROW".. which is now pointless since the Chiefs announced they will play their game tomorrow as scheduled.

Yeah, I dont care about it. Im not the one who was making jokes of it.

As a Chiefs fan I feel absolutely terrible. Haven't felt this way since the accident/death of Derrick Thomas. I can't even fathom how both individual's families and friends, the Chiefs, and the rest of Kansas City feels. People are saying it's completely out of charecter of him, but it seems like things that happen like this are always "out of charecter" for whoever is involved. I'm sure there will be more information in the upcoming days but it's just a surreal situation to think about. Regarding the game tomorrow, the Chiefs should and probably will have a moment of silence for the families involved in the situation. Publicly they probably won't........and shouldn't......honor Javon Belcher.

I'm not saying I feel this way, but it got me thinking that Pioli and Crennel are likely to lose their jobs at the end of the season, but after both witnessing this terrible event, it could be hard to go through with it. Who knows though, obviously that's not even close to being important right now.

Quick thoughts on todays game:

Cannot let Beast Mode start up. If he starts getting chunks of yards, the Bears are in trouble, because everything will start opening up for Wilsons arm and legs.

Bennett needs to step up right now and END the Hester experiment decisively. This should be his game, the Seahawks are going to be blanketing Marshall like everyone else tries to, this should open up routes for Bennett.

If Forte shows any ill effects from a bum ankle, then Bush and Allen need to get the ball and Forte needs to be shut down.

Hit Russell Wilson. Repeatedly. Shake him up. His road record is so so, his home record is good. Do not let him get going.

If he was mentally healthy, I doubt he shoots wife. I see this differently than a normal suicide, but not exactly equivalent to a normal murder either.

People are already bringing up the possibility of football related brain injury.

Yeah hard for me to say whether it is that or not -- but it is not adequate to simply cast him off as "murderer" to me unless more evidence to the contrary comes out. My sense is that you don't do that unless you're mentally unhealthy. I'm not about to pin his number on my chest or something, but I don't think our society is programmed to fully understand what went down. It sounds to me like he just went crazy and unfortunately took someone with him to the other side. I will be interested in what further details come out.

The level of empathy humans show towards each other is one of the areas where humans are different than other animals. And sometimes not.

While I try not to cry over something, or someone, that won't cry over me, some situations call for a small level of empathy. We may forget that each of us is a son or daughter, perhaps a brother, sister, niece, nephew, husband, wife, friend, or teammate. Some of all of them will grieve at your passing no matter what you do or to whom. Even if you want to be the cold hearted sort, his wife was probably liked by a lot of players and their spouses. For any and all of those reasons, it could have been a very rational decision to postpone the game.

But there are some very practical concerns which make postponing difficult. However, games have been rescheduled for storms, infrastructure problems, acts of war, and I'm certain a few other issues.

Jake, I too will "wait and see" but he is a murderer in my mind until something turns up to dispute that. The facts as we know them today are he killed her.

It was enough to knock Jennings to the ground. How much does it take to warrant a call?

It wasn't blatant enough for the refs to realize it. Jennings could have just tripped.

They've all been correct. These announcers are annoying as f***, blatantly cheering for the Seahawks. Not mentioning Cutler as a top player in this game is asinine, he's been brilliant.

This

The color guy kept insisting that was a TD catch while the Fox network rules specialist and eventually the referee rightfully overturned the call...
