iamshack
I caddied at this Club throughout my teenage years. Chicago Tribune Butler National hosted the Western Open from 1974 to 1990. But before the 1990 PGA Championship at Alabama's Shoal Creek, that club's founder, Hall Thompson, told the Birmingham Post-Herald of its admissions policy: "I think we've said that we don't discriminate in every other area except the blacks." That comment led the USGA, PGA Tour, LPGA and PGA of America to require private clubs that want to host events to adopt non-discriminatory admissions practices, ending Butler National's Western Open run. I'd love to see them host PGA events again...it's truly one of the top 2 or 3 courses in the Chicago area.
Texsox
I attended several tournaments there, including the Sunday run of Scott Verplank(A). It is a beautiful course. Diana Dikta coined a word for women at most Country Clubs WORMS, wives of regular members.
