These pension systems are funded. In fact, they are funded for the next 75 years. They are overfunded, not just plain old funded.

I am fine with it, if the price of driving is also inclusive of all the tax supports that would go away. Just by nature, that would make driving much less efficient than mass transit for those who have the option. So mass transit would get better. But neither will happen, as people would have an absolute fit, even if taxes went down accordingly (which they would not anyway).
