1549
I say let him back it will be good for baseball, and he is considered one of the hardest workers there is. he gave baseball his all and he deserves in. Not too mention its a crime that the player with the most hits isn't in. Who cares if he bet on baseball, I am sure inside he regrets it now. southsider2k5
I don't know about an asshole and liar, but he bet on baseball. Period. That means he shouldn't be eligible.
mreye
I always thought he needed a haircut. He probably would have been a better player, IMO.
cwsox
No way no how does he belong in MLB baseball - we have discussed in the past to death - I am not voting because the categories are not something I am comfortable with at all. He accepted the lifetime ban on baseball when he and his battery of lawyers choose that option as a way to keep sealed the details of his gambling exploits - violating the one cardinal rule of baseball - and the Giamatti report is enough of a statement on what Rose did that was in total violation of baseball rules and total corruption. If Giamatti were alive, this discussion wouldn't be happening. Rose is lucky Giamatti is dead. Rose gets mentioned in the HOF in displays for his accomplishments, which are fact. But for him to be in the Hall of Fame as a member, no way in hell.

Cerbaho-WG
Yes, he should be let in. Just my opinion, and on the case of accepting a lifetime ban, there was an interesting point brought up in the ESPN Mock Trial. Supposedly Rose's agreement was doctored after he intially agreed to it. I loved the ESPN trial, but I have to admit Dershowitz did an excellent job over Cochran. If I was on the jury panel, and being completely neutral, I would side with Dershowitz. Was just a graet job by him.

Give me a break. Cerb, it is time to quit the crack. It really is!

VAfan
How can anyone be a Sox fan and think Rose should be reinstated?? We lost our whole team to a lifetime ban. Yet it was the right move. Rose bet on baseball games as a manager, which directly affects the integrity of the game. What has he done to redeem himself?? Absolutely nothing. If you let Rose back in, then Shoeless Joe and all the other Sox were sacrificed for NOTHING. It would completely undermine baseball's "death penalty." Charlie Hustle is really Charlie Hustler. He's about my all time least favorite person in baseball.

I perhaps should abandon everything I have learned in law in the past 16 years as a member of the state bar association and instead like you trust in ESPN on Law as the source of all wisdom. Yeah, right, that's what I will do. Of course I have read the Giamatti report and suggest you do also, as well as other extensive research here, so perhaps you will not come across as, how can one say, ignorant and arrogant. You on law is like me on the minor leagues - out of one's depth.
