Chisoxfn
Two weeks into the season now. My Titans are at .500; Won 1 of 3 @ #1 Florida (ranked that at the time) and than took 2 of 3 vs. #15 TCU to start off the season.
ChiliIrishHammock24
BSU is 1-4. Lol. Team is almost completely freshman and sophomores, so they are expected to be awful.
daa84
my commodores started out the season ranked #8 - had the top recruiting class in the country coming in - but had a record number of players drafted last year, so had some big shoes to fill.... start of the season has been horrendous - swept @ #4 stanford, and then swept at home by unranked Oregon currently 1-6 ...they will get better as some of their guys get a bit more seasoned
Wanne
ASU has somewhat retooled a bit this year and came out on fire with the bats...and on cue I bragged them up to my dad and they promptly lost their first game. Currently 5-1. They've definitely got some sticks this year and I'm pretty high on their 3 freshmen pitchers who throw very hard...one of which is Bobby Bonilla's son Brandon...nice looking lefty with a very live arm. Unfortunately they're not eligible for post season this year (they should have just taken the penalty last year...and ended up getting completely hosed at Texas in the Super Regional. So the only goal they have is to win which appears to be a very strong Pac12 this year. I'm sure I'll be spending ample time in Tempe this spring between the baseball and softball teams. Wanne
Not sure if any of you remember the story about the ASU kid who broke his neck last year in his freshman year. Here's the write up on it. This is truly a gutwrenching and inspirational story. It's what you hope every parent would be also. http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-0226-p...,2164984.column
Chisoxfn
Big time weekend series victory for Fullerton. They took 2 out of 3 on the road against the 6th ranked Aggies. They now have a win against the #1 team in the country (Florida), and 2 series wins against formerly ranked TCU & of course the Aggies. DirtySox
I have no rooting interest, as I only follow for the sake of high end MLB draft talent. I've been watching plenty of Stanford and Florida so far. Some Clemson, Miami, and South Carolina too. Still not sold on Mark Appel as a 1-1 guy. Love what I've seen from Zunino and Preston Tucker so far. Unsure on Brian Johnson. Stanford is stacked. Piscotty, & Mooneyham have impressed. Jake Stewart and Gaffney are interesting too. Kind of down on Diekroeger.
zenryan
Anyone but Florida but go Miami. Got swept vs Florida but really blew the finale. Blew a 2 run lead in the 9th when our closer, who has been battling an injury, got bombed.
DirtySox
QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 12, 2012 -> 08:22 PM) Anyone but Florida but go Miami. Got swept vs Florida but really blew the finale. Blew a 2 run lead in the 9th when our closer, who has been battling an injury, got bombed. I really like Peter O'Brien. Probably a late 1st rounder. zenryan
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Mar 12, 2012 -> 10:39 PM) I really like Peter O'Brien. Probably a late 1st rounder. Yeah, he has been very good. Big, strong catcher with power. Wonder if he stays at catcher or moves to first base in the pros. Guess it all depends on how his power numbers translate. IlliniKrush
Wait until you see highlights of vandy vs Florida. Vandy 5 runs in top of 9th including 6 steals 3 of them being on a triple steal
daa84
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 26, 2012 -> 06:47 PM) Wait until you see highlights of vandy vs Florida. Vandy 5 runs in top of 9th including 6 steals 3 of them being on a triple steal And there was a 7th SB that was called out, but replays showed was safe. And it was against the best catcher in the country
Rowand44
QUOTE (Brian @ May 26, 2012 -> 11:11 AM) Not on in AZ. Are we ever going to be good in anything...ever?
danman31
Hey Mizzou is back in the tourney. I guess that means I'll pay attention to regionals this year.
zenryan
well Miami benefits for having a nice reputation as host and is rewarded a host site. Not worthy of it but I'll take it. I was kinda looking forward to seeing Miami possibly head out of state for their regional. Appears the NCAA is getting bored with the Miami-Florida pairings. fathom
Nice start to the postseason for Florida, as their pitcher did his best Johan Santana impression.
SoxFan1
I witnessed Kent State/Kentucky's 21 inning game last night. That was something else. Purdue/Kent State tonight at 7pm CT on Big Ten Network.
danman31
Ha Miami two and Q at home in a pair of blowout losses. That's pathetic. Mizzou won a game to surpass my expectations.
Chisoxfn
And my Titans lose.
SoxFan1
Kentucky b****ed up a monstrous storm about not being a host venue and having to go to Gary, IN. It pleasures me GREATLY to see them lose to Kent State twice and get bounced out of the tournament. Speaking of Kent State, that team is legit. Deep pitching, some good hitting, and they own the nation's longest winning streak, which I believe is now at 20.
