Id suspect you want the most opinions possible. Im pretty lazy so I may do a real legitimate top 10 where I do research etc, but after that Im just going to either a) copy another list, b) make it up based on my crazy opinions or most likely c) give up and post nothing.

If enough people turn in top 20 lists you should be able to produce a top 50 list. All time would be more interesting to me. It is difficult to compare across eras. I keep having the scene from Bad Teacher running through my head,

"Six rings! Is that all ya got?"

"It's ALL I NEED!"

I think all time is kind of dumb since majority of people would have never seen at least half the people on their list and if they have it would just be on espn classics which isn't enough to judge a person either.

Plus, Bill Simmons already did it better than anyone can with his Basketball Pyramid. Everyone should read that damned Book of Basketball. I've read it twice, so fun.

Now, I believe the list above comes from the hardcover version, as I believe Kobe made it to the Pantheon in the paperback on the back of another title. Obviously, the book goes into great detail about every player.

Again, sof***inggood.

I agree with the above...and that list is what makes me want to do the full 100.

It seems all-time is winning so. We could do All-Time first, see how that works, then a current.

How do we do this though that will instill discussion, debate, and not losing focus over the course of huge lists.

A lot of my students (8th graders) have the Jordan or James or Kobe. When they try to get me involved I tell them that to give them a chance I'll take Scottie Pippen against James or Kobe. What's fun is at some point I can toss out 6 rings baby :lolhitting

I imagine it goes something like this...

"Call me when LeBron has six championships." - Tex

"That's your only argument?" - Student hypothetically named Shawn

"It's the only argument I need Shawn!" - Tex
