Sox @ Padres

Well, despite Gavin giving up a few hits, it seems like he is putting on a pretty good show for the Jays scouts that are watching him. 4 K's to 0 BB through 2 IP so far.

And speaking of Jay's scouts, I got to stand behind one and listen to him talk to a Jays trainer last week. I wish he would have been talking about specific players, or if I could have asked him about scouting Gavin, but either way, it was interesting to hear what he was talking about.

Is anybody listening to the San Diego radio play by play guy?

He sounds a little nuts.

No, but did Morel leave and is Leesman in for Floyd?

The boxscore is all over the place.

edit: nevermind. Leesman is in, getting hit. Marinez coming in. Can we get some roster cuts one of these days?

Morel still in there.

Lillibridge makes an error at short. That's what will happen if you go to the well too often with a bench player.

He turned three DP's ysterday I think and then made an error. He is getting SS down again after being in the OF almost all last year. He will do fine IMO

I agree, as a backup. If he starts 10 games each at 3B, SS, 2B, and CF, I have no problem with that.

Well, so far the results are not encouraging for the regime change.

Let's see where we are in 2 more weeks.

Lillibridge, for a natural SS with the Braves, has made some Ramirez-esque errors that make me question whether he could ever be an everyday player at that position.

Leesman, goodbye.

Bruney getting a leg up with Hector Santiago on the 5-6 bullpen jobs. #7, well Castro and Axelrod haven't impressed, up in the air. Maybe Stults. Maybe a late in the spring waiver wire acquisition.

Padres, by the way, have 6 Top 100 BA prospects.

And yeah, that Padres announcer....the way he hesitates and pauses while he's annoucing, almost like he's breathless, is driving me absolutely crazy. Almost impossible to listen to.

Might be time to start talking about this Hector Gimenez as a backup catcher instead of Flowers.

I was at the game (been to all the games) and that is exactly what I told my daughter. I doubt it would happen but it should. I also hate to admit it, but so far, I'm thinking the Tank may need another year at Charlotte.
