southsider2k5
Mark Gonzales @MDGonzales Crain played catch, not much to report regarding RT oblique Not sure when he'll throw pen session, but end of week is possible if he feels better
southsider2k5
Scott Merkin @scottmerkin Crain has played catch last 3 days and hopes to throw pen soon. But no official plan. Oblique feels marginally better but ... Still feels tightness when he gets past throwing 100 feet
southsider2k5
Scott Merkin @scottmerkin Crain played catch. Threw 20 in front of the mound and 12 off the mound. Called it a good day. Wants to throw full pen Friday
southsider2k5
Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan Jesse Crain said he's good to go for bullpen session Friday. Hasn't pitched since scratched 8 days ago with strained right oblique muscle.
southsider2k5
Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan Jesse Crain (slight right oblique strain) had good bullpen session Friday, his first in more than a week. Will throw off mound again Sunday
southsider2k5
Scott Merkin @scottmerkin Coop told reporters in Tucson that Crain threw 35 pitches, threw all his pitches and threw them all well As for Crain letting it go on the mound in his bullpen, Coop said "I would call it a medium, but medium for him is solid for others." Chicago White Sox
This is just another example why every newspaper article and tweet does not require its own thread.
sunofgold
Crain hasn't pitched in awhile...in a real game. I think since March 12. I think the White Sox and Crain are taking it slow which is the way to go. If Crain has to start on the 15DL ...mainly to get some work in and back in the pitching groove...I don't mind. Would give us a chance to try Reed as the rhph setup guy in the 8th ..help groom him for the closer position. Santiago has been a pleasant surprise. Bruney has pitched well. Thus, we probably would be okay w/o Crain for15 days at start of season.
