flavum
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 11:01 AM) No DH but Viciedo at DH. Huh? Missed that. I had the Brewers lineup before the Sox. I guess the Brewers are choosing not to use a DH.
2nd_city_saint787
Whos this Sanchez guy, and Gimenez(sp?) that played yesterday....I try to keep up with the minors but these 2 names arent ringing a bell.
flavum
QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 11:17 AM) Whos this Sanchez guy, and Gimenez(sp?) that played yesterday....I try to keep up with the minors but these 2 names arent ringing a bell. Sanchez is Carlos Sanchez. He's from minor league camp. Hector Gimenez is still in major league camp. He's been pretty good, and he has major league experience. BigEdWalsh
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 09:21 AM) Hector Gimenez is still in major league camp. He's been pretty good, and he has major league experience. I'm liking Gimenez more than the strikeout machine that is Tyler Flowers.
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 12:01 PM) No DH but Viciedo at DH. Huh? Sometimes an NL team will decide to make their pitcher bat, instead of using a DH. I saw it a few weeks ago when I went to the Pirates/Blue Jays game. sunofgold
Interesting lineup. Is this a split squad game? Or did the rest of the team take the day off for some golf?
flavum
QUOTE (sunofgold @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) Interesting lineup. Is this a split squad game? Or did the rest of the team take the day off for some golf? A lot of them played the night game last night, or went to Tucson yesterday. Good day to give some guys some rest. caulfield12
Flowers with his 3rd homer, hitting .300 now. Sox down 4-3 in the bottom of the 5th. Sale has gotten roughed up, but the defense hasn't helped him much. 4 2/3 IP, 3 ER, left a runner at 2B with a reliever just now coming in... Viciedo 0 for 2, now 4/35. Almost all of the minor leaguers have replaced the starters, so probably not the greatest odds of winning this game. Mitchell with another hit, .333 on the spring. Bruney in for Sale. ChiliIrishHammock24
Ha, Farmer, DJ, and Rongey just read my question on the air, they are discussing it now.
flavum
Bruney ERA at 0.87. I think he's earned it, and it's really down to one spot for Stults, Axelrod, Stewart, or Jones.

caulfield12
Drew Garcia single, Tyler Saladino triple and Gallagher sac fly keys the comeback. Not sure if they'll go with Nathan Jones with his lack of experience, maybe?

sunofgold
We are winning! Maybe everything isn't perfect but good enough. Sale and the relievers were good enough.
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 06:26 PM) What was your question? My question was, why move Viciedo away from RF when he is going to end up there in a couple years when Rios leaves anyway? Let the kid learn a position. DJ's answer was that Rios has more trade value in RF than in LF. lol. Like that matters at all at this point. Then he also said it's better if Viciedo is more versatile and can learn as many positions as he can, rather than just stay in one spot. Dumb, dumb answers.
