SoxFan1
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 05:39 PM) Kentucky probably wins this one, but I don't think it'll be a rout like some believe it will be. Withey and Robinson will make it tougher for Kentucky to get the easy buckets in the paint, IMO. I say Kentucky by 11 or so, because of some late FT's. Never mind. fathom
I really hope Calipari goes to the Knicks now. Kentucky getting so many of the top prospects has killed the tournament the last few years.
Soxbadger
Kentucky can be beaten, but KU needs to play 20 minutes of half court grind basketball. UK doesnt really love half court, they kind of just stand around.
farmteam
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 09:16 PM) I really hope Calipari goes to the Knicks now. Kentucky getting so many of the top prospects has killed the tournament the last few years. Are there rumors he might head there?
Palehosefan
QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 09:24 PM) Are there rumors he might head there? He's not going anywhere. He's getting NBA money to coach NBA talent at UK. At this point he doesn't even have to buy talent anymore. He has become the NBA factory. Kids know they can show up, not worry about going to class, and be on TV every game. I am amazed at how hard he gets these kids to play. Coach K and Calipari are the only two elite coaches I can say that about.
fathom
What an awful game...fitting for this awful tournament.
Soxbadger
If kansas can get it to a 3 possession game with about 3 minutes left anything can happen. Kentucky's shooting has drastically fallen off and they are stagnant in the half court.
RockRaines
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 09:05 PM) It's really too bad Ohio St. couldn't have beat Kansas. Much more likely this would have been a closer game. 2011 OSU maybe, 2012 not so much. You need to have very good outside shooting to beat UK (IU did). KU doesnt have that and its being exposed. Diebler and Lighty could have given them a good run if they didnt choke like last year.
RockRaines
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 09:54 PM) What an awful game...fitting for this awful tournament. They should allow kids to jump to the NBA again or make a 2 year rule. One and done players are talented but it really dilutes the rest of the game. Remember how good Duke was with 4 year players? Soxbadger
Kansas needs to shoot to win, not drive at Davis and hope for fouls.
RockRaines
Does it seem like the refs are trying to let Kansas back in this?
Soxbadger
Really calipari, you just let your guys do nothing on offense?
SoxFan1
That was almost a mammoth (and nearly impossible) and-1 by Robinson.
Soxbadger
Right now Kansas needs to know who the worst UK ft shooters are to foul smart.

iamshack
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 09:22 PM) Does it seem like the refs are trying to let Kansas back in this? They did the same with Louisville. They're only human

Rex Hudler
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 09:30 PM) Right now Kansas needs to know who the worst UK ft shooters are to foul smart. Kentucky hit 35-37 FT's against IU. Not a strategy that works against them. Memphis 2008 they are not.
Rex Hudler
I guess there is a small amount of satisfaction that IU gave them their toughest game of the tournament, scores notwithstanding.
SoxFan1
If it wasn't before, the 1-and-done NCAA rule is now officially a joke.

How many on UK will be one and done? 2? 3? Lamb and Jones were sophs, Miller a senior. I can't see Teague being ready. Wiltjer isn't going anyhwhere. I'm not defending Calipari and Kentucky, but does two one and done's make it a joke?

I don't see why Kentucky winning makes the rule a joke. Did the Fab 5 make college basketball a joke? Recruit a ton of HS All-Americans and you'll have a chance to win. No joke there. IlliniKrush
http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/774447...lege-basketball Btw pretty sure teague is slated as a late first rounder so he might jump
