The one thing about last year's team was that they did actually bounce back from some pretty wicked losses....every time I really thought we would go into the s***ter because of a nasty loss, they came out and got the victory. With multiple wins, like the Red Sox or Cardinals, over the last decade....it's a bit different in terms of sustainability. We've pretty much seen that same trend....late 2006 and 2007 killed all the momentum, we got SOME back in the 2008 but the last 3 years destroyed what was left of the fans' so-called "goodwill." Unfortunately absolutely nothing in the banks regarding '85 Bears, as much as I wish I could report otherwise. I do remember Payton and McMahon but not in a trophy-holding context unfortunately. Fortunately the White Sox haven't done enough for me to need much more than early-to-mid 90s and '05. They cut $25 million from the payroll of a profitable team last year anticipating an attendance drop. Rebuild and then get to a point where games are won. Yeah, I don't get the attendance talk either. As you said, they already cut payroll, and with a sorta-rebuild going on, I don't think they are overly concerned about the attendance right now.
