If the Sox don't make the playoffs the offensive downgrade from Quentin to Viciedo will be at the top of the reasons why list.

Carlos has Viciedo in two categories, and that is walks which gives him a better OBP. Everything else is pretty damn close to what Viciedo is giving, plus much better defense.

And lets not even mention how many games Quentin misses on a yearly basis

On July 20-22 the Tigers swept the Sox in a three game series. The team records between that sweep and the most recent debacle are as follows:

White Sox 22-13

Tigers 17-17

(Oh yeah. Sox respond to getting swept by the Royals in the middle of these series' by going 6-0 including a home sweep of the Yankees for the first time since Bush Sr. was in office.)

So far this time around the Sox win 2 of 3 from Minnesota and Detroit loses AT LEAST 2 of 3 to Cleveland... Maybe more.

Quentin: .262/.371/.502 in 77 games

Viciedo: .239/.282/.371 in his last 77 games

So an .873 OPS for Quentin in the toughest hitters park in MLB versus a .653 for Viciedo over that same time. Huge difference.

Quentin's a good player, but you have to account for the time he's not available when evaluating his overall worth.

That ability to play in a game is an important stat.

Yes. .873 OPS with home games in Petco is not bad.

No one is saying it is, but he's still only played 77 games. He's not a full-time player and he would not be our best hitter for that reason alone.

It's quite clear that you're still looking for reasons to bash KW and this attempt is even bad for your standards.
