Well, Gavin is a mediocre pitcher, I mean, I hope we get something decent or some good potential. But really, when trading mediocre, what really can we get? Another project pitcher/position player, sure. But we aren't getting a A+ potential for an okay pitcher.

He's not mediocre...he's well-above mediocre. Unfortunately, he wasn't blessed with a whole lot above the shoulders.

Sox getting their asses kicked on Sunday night baseball.

Hope we can take 2 of 3 in Cleveland if not small crowd for Tigers?

Sox Sunday night record is just terrible, they not just lose, but get smoked.

People in Chicago don't care how good or bad the team is until a few month into the season. You care way too much about the crowds this year. Barring a miracle, it's going to be a mediocre year at the gate for the Sox.

Yay. Somebody acknowledged one of my posts.

I thought I was getting the silent treatment this year (cue that one awful commercial about the silent treatment)

Another mediocre start for Gavin. What new?

I hope his option doesn't get picked up. AJ Gavin and Gordon could all be gone by next year. Hopefully sooner if KW gets trigger happy

Gavin is routinely bad in April. I hope his season-long numbers continue as in years past. A 3 to 4 fWAR workhorse starter has plenty of value, be it in a trade, or for this team if they miraculously are able to be competitive this year or next. Plenty of teams would like to have Gavin Floyd. See Boston and Toronto.

Well, I went into this weekend hoping for a 3-3 record after Cleveland...so its still attainable. We aren't playing some chumps here, mind you...they ARE one of, if not the best hitting teams around.

It's not discouraging losing 2 of 3 in Texas, but when you come into Texas you better be packin' more than 6 runs in your holster...plus Gavin's underwhelming performance...frustrating series.

its going to be a huge struggle to score runs all year....morel, viciedo, de aza, beckham and rios are all fringe-mlb offensive players IMO

I agree with that alot of nights like tonight are going too happen.

Maybe its just me, but I put him on par with Javy Vazquez. Its definitely known that the stuff is there, and there are glimpses. But when it comes down to it, he is a mental midget, and one mistake turns to 3 to 4 to 5 mistakes rather quickly. Soon enough you lose, or you need a good offense to bail you out. You end up being around 12-12 on the year.

So, giving you innings, strikeouts and showing glimpses of being awesome are there, but in the end, he really didn't do that great. Mediocre in my books.

We're just spoiled by our pitching depth since 05 (outside of 07).

Floyd is better than Javy. Mostly because he probably cares.

AJ?

yeah, you could throw him in there too if you want

Viciedo?

hate his discipline. think hes largely overrated by most sox fans. He does have the most upside of those mentioned above though
