Neal Cotts Fan Thread

I agree. Win or lose, as long as you hustle, you get my support. Getting down on a kid after 2 plus innings is beyond silly. There were positives to his performance, as you have pointed out, and I am hopeful he can develop into something special.

The only Sox player I remember booing is Ron LeFlore, when the ball went off his head in center, and he then sarcastically doffed his cap at the end of the inning. That's boo-able.

Let's take first back tonight.

I'm all for giving Cotts another shot, as I've said in many other threads. This is not due to me being part of a "Cotts love fest" but due to the fact that I am taking into consideration certain factors, pros and cons, and that is the decision I would come up with if I were in JM's shoes.

From the Daily Herald:

Cotts get a mulligan: Even though he struggled badly in his first major-league start Tuesday night, Neal Cotts will get another chance at Texas on Sunday night.

Brought up from Class AA Birmingham to face the Angels, Cotts lasted only 2º innings and was lifted after allowing 2 runs on 2 hits and 6 walks.

"We can throw that out and give him a fair evaluation on his next one,'' Jerry Manuel said. "Hopefully, he can make the adjustments. He walked a lot of guys, but I didn't see too many hard balls put in play. That means that he's hiding (his pitches) a little bit.''

Ah, you beat me to it. One question, that says the game is Sunday night. Is that the ESPN Sunday Night Game?
