Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Boingo said the deal includes both complimentary Internet access for White Sox fans, as well as a higher bandwidth, premium service which can be purchased using Boingo Wi-Fi credits. Boingo said its network has already been deployed throughout the ballpark. Boingo has recently announced a significant number of deals to expand its management of Wi-Fi at venues, including one earlier this month with Denver International Airport, and a batch of deals to manage Wi-Fi at shopping malls. Texsox
ugh. But, now what I would like to see are clubs that add content for the fans at the game. Make it a part of the experience not keeping the fan apart from the game.
ChiliIrishHammock24
Cool. I'm not sure if I would ever bring my laptop to a game (unless I was in the skybox), but if I ever do get a smart phone, it would be nice to use the WiFi at the games. I'm actually surprised it took so long. I feel like Wrigley has had WiFi for a long time.

JohnCangelosi
QUOTE (kev211 @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 01:38 PM) Be nice to use it with a smart phone Exactly. I live overseas and was connected to MLB.TV on my iPhone in Kiev, Ukraine watching the game. Incredible quality as well. The technology of watching a live game on something as small as your phone is finally here!

Good for people in fantasy baseball leagues and keeping track on what's happening around the league in general.

It's good for the business execs and corporate outings who attend the game. It's just the world we live in now, having access to at least your email is a necessity it seems. And if spending a few thousand dollars on wifi means happier relationships with the millionaires and companies that attend, I think it's well worth the investment. Balta1701
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 05:33 PM) You go to a baseball game to watch BASEBALL not surf for porn. Who dreamed up this idea? Last year I spent 5 minutes trying to post a picture of Derrick Rose on facebook during warmups of the Hawks/Bulls game 6. The purpose of this was entirely to make 5 specific people jealous of the fact that I was at the game and they were not. I was unable to do so, but eventually got a picture of Noah to go through which eventually served that purpose. Allowing me to brag to friends during the game that I am at the game is, for me, the point.

I think following the game via mlb at-bat could be helpful if you're not sitting close enough to really see where a pitch was at.

ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 06:18 PM) I like this for my iPhone. Does anyone really bring laptops or iPads to games? If I see someone bring their Apple iPad to a game, I'd make it a point to "accidentally" spill something on it. I think tablets so dumb, and then when I see someone who buys Apple's tablet? Facepalm.
