winninguglyin83
Castro disaster: five hits, six runs, four earned and four walks in two innings. Axelrod pitching very well for Charlotte. Castro and Molina both need a bit of work.
caulfield12
Tyler Kuhn 11 for his first 27, over 400 in the early going. No matter what you say about that kid's defense, power, athletic ability....he just hits. Petricka ended up surrendering 4 runs. Miguel Gonzalez sighting, didn't even realize he was still with the organization. Edited April 13, 2012 by caulfield12
flavum
Ozzie Martinez is 0-20, with one walk. Yikes.
SoxAce
Keenyn Walker 4-4 2B, 3 R, 3 RBIs. Got his average up to .290 now.
winninguglyin83
another solid game by axelrod -- 6 innings, four hits, one walk, 5 ks, one run. might not be more than a middle reliever, but he throws strikes.
winninguglyin83
make it 5 for 5 for Walker, four singles, a double and 5 RBIS Also stole two bases. Other than an error, nothing to knock
DirtySox
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) Keenyn Walker 4-4 2B, 3 R, 3 RBIs. Got his average up to .290 now. Most importantly, not a single strikeout.
NorthSideSox72
Kuhn has a friggin bat. Remenowsky in AA so far: 5.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K I still don't get why they have been moving Shoemaker through the system so slowly. Anyone know anything about his defensive abilities? QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 09:20 PM) another solid game by axelrod -- 6 innings, four hits, one walk, 5 ks, one run. might not be more than a middle reliever, but he throws strikes. I still think he's a starter, and a good one, in the majors. If someone from the starting staff goes down, he's on top of my list. Above Stewart certainly. danman31
Just when everyone was saying Keenyn Walker was a bust he does that. How freaking bizarre.

caulfield12
QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 10:11 PM) Just when everyone was saying Keenyn Walker was a bust he does that. How freaking bizarre. Yep, I was one of them. Of course, one GOOD game does not a season make, either. I remember Jerry Owens went 5 for 5 against the Twins once, something like that....in August/September of 2007, but that turned out to be a mirage. Chicago White Sox
Carlos Sanchez has his OPS up to .858 with a slash of .304/.467/.391. He also has 7 BB's vs 4 K's.
caulfield12
Pretty unusual stats for a 19 year old Venezuelan infielder. Let's hope Sanchez keeps up the good plate discipline.

Considering how far away from the majors he still is, being able to go 5/5 with 0 k's is a promising sign. At least he's making contact. Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 07:20 AM) Pretty unusual stats for a 19 year old Venezuelan infielder. Let's hope Sanchez keeps up the good plate discipline. That's why I'm so high on him. You rarely see such discipline from a 19 Latin player. I wish I knew how his defense was though. I found it interesting they had him play SS last night and moved Semian over to 2B. If he's even a half-way decent defensive infielder, then he's definitely a top 10 prospect for us right now. Let's hope Sanchez keeps up the good plate discipline. The contact is real, but I'm not sure about the walks. He put up a phenomenal walk rate in the DSL, but I'm pretty sure I could. Obviously the Sox think highly of him for him to be 19 and starting in Winston-Salem.

I know the Sox signed him out of Venezuela and put him in the DSL in 09. I don't know if that makes him a product of an academy.
