jeffro2525
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 07:51 PM) No. I want him to focus on swinging at the pitches that are strikes first. He's got enough of a problem hitting those pitches. If he gets called out a few times because an ump doesn't call the zone correctly, so be it. Our hitters also need to learn how to protect the plate on two strikes. How many times have we seen Becks and Dunn take borderline pitches just off the plate for strike three? AJ is a great example of this...don't leave it up to the ump.
Balta1701
Alex rocketed that ball just too close to the RF to get down.
Baron
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 08:00 PM) You both just questioned why he didn't swing at a pitch outside the zone... Good at bat, Alex! I never said he should have swung at it. But him complaining was wrong. The ump called it for Peavy.
caulfield12
AJ Pierzynski, last year his 4th homer was July 25th, 13th RBI on May 22nd. WOW.

caulfield12
Small victories, at least Rios didn't hit into a DP and completely kill the momentum. Sure, 4-1 or 5-1 would be nicer, but when we get a bigger lead we tend to let up instead of stepping on the neck of the opponent and not letting them get back up. elrockinMT
It is at least encouraging that Adam Dunn gets some walks mixed in with all thoses K's. Hopefully he starts belting some baseballs around the park again
jeffro2525
This Baltimore line-up is really not fun to face. Uncomfortable pretty much up and down the order.

caulfield12
Ethier and Kemp leading the majors with 17 RBI's, AJ with 13, tied for 3rd. Interestingly enough, Chris Young and Nick Swisher both have 13 as well. Jeter and Konerko have the same number, tied for 18th.

caulfield12
Dammit, 10 pitches and a negative result. That hurts. Always a concern with Peavy's endurance/stamina/pitch count in the middle innings. Already close to 60. And how the hell does Omar Infante have 4 homers?

caulfield12
Starting line-up has 4 guys under 600 OPS currently. Morel at 297 Dunn at 592 Fukudome at 397 (but only 12 ab's, hit the ball hard last night though) Beckham at 338 At least Dunn is getting on base (a bit more) and Rios seems to be pulling out of it. We haven't seen the best from DeAza, but he still has a 770 OPS, shaming Juan Pierre. They also took away the "triple" that he hit against DET where Delmon Young did a 360 pirouette. And, on cue, DeAza jumps to 869 with one swing of the bat. 4-1. Nice to have some power at leadoff for a change.
