I see a lot of u guys r b****in and moanin about my "f*** NEAL COTTS" thread from last night. 1st off let me explain. I have nothing against Neal Cotts. Personally I've never seen him pitch and don't know much of anything about him cept for his monster numbers at AA...But last night shouldn't have been about Neal Cotts. He was horrible. No way around it. Dan Wright is the guy that shoulda been gettin all the love. Every other thread it seems to be Neal Cotts this Neal Cotts that. U would think a White Sox fan of all people would learn not to get too hyped about a stud pitching prospect. I firmly stand by what I said about Cotts having no business being in the big leagues right now. He's here outta desperation. That's all. U could make the excuse he was nervous. And i'm sure he was. But he was walkin people in AA. So why the shock last night is beyond me.

I don't think that was justified. f*** KW. f*** JM. f*** JR. f*** 'em all, but don't f*** Neal Cotts.

You disagree with him being up here and that's fine, but what's he supposed to do? Decline the opportunity? Say, "No, I like it just fine at AA. Give Dan Wright the start."??

It's not his fault they called him up to start in place of Wright. And it's not like Wright didn't have any chance to prove he belonged in the rotation. He had 12 starts without a win for crying out loud!!!!

I totally agree. I want to see him be great. I'd love him to be ROTY next year. But, what I don't understand is why everyone is so upset about people getting angry over his fairly poor performance. Some people were acting like he was their brother or son last night. Now, if we can't be upset about a poor performance, than we shouldn't be happy about a good one. Just think about that.

Also, I'm the biggest Frank fan there is. But I'm pissed at him when he pops out to the catcher in his first three AB's. That's just the way it is.

No, he's not going to turn down the chance to start in the big leagues. If they asked me, I'd do it, although I've thrown 3 ineffective innings my whole life. If I were to walk as many guys as he did, I wouldn't expect love just because it was my debut.

Let's look at it from another perspective. Suppose this is a hitter making his debut. What if he's 0-4, with 7 LOB. I'd be pissed. I would hope that no one would say it's ok to K with the sacks packed with Sox because it's his first game, or if he rolled two to end the inning. It's the same thing.

Maybe that was a lil harsh. But Like I said. It's not that I don't like the guy. But all the ass kissin last night was gettin real annoying. For every 1 mention of Dan Wright and what he did there were 15 mentions of excuses on why Neal Cotts sucked. Here's my exuse...He's not ready...End of story...

The only people that got too hyped are the idiots like you who are bashing him now. The title of your thread basically negated anything you said in it because it was assinine.

Anybody on here with half a brain should know better than to evaluate any pitcher based on one outing, good or bad. If Cotts threw 7 innings of shutout ball last night he should not have been labeled the "next coming", nor should he be blasted like that.

If you haven't seen him then you have no clue whether he belongs there or not. Bart Colon got hammered two nights ago, so does he belong back in AA? Of course not. Neal had a rough night of it last night. Perhaps he isn't ready. But that determination cannot be made from last night.

For those of you who talk about all his walks in AA, you obviously don't realize that he had cut his number of walks in the second half by 1.5 per game. That his numbers lately had been much better than early on.

I fully expect Neal to get another start and to have a decent, yet not great game. Give him time to acclimate himself before you go off the deep end with baseless comments.

And this is nothing personal, but anyone who gives up on a top prospect after one start, or feels the need to call them things like "cocksucker", "motherf***er", etc, has no clue at all about the game of baseball...

I did not give up on him at all. All I said was he had a very poor start. Is that not true. I said "Great. Now the bastard has walked the first FOUR men of the inning" Is that worng? I mean, damn, Carlos has the nickname of Dumbass. People generally refer to him as that, and when someone says Dumbass, it's understood that we're talking about Carlos. Why is there a double standard?

U think i'm mad at Neal for not saying "no" to pitch in the big leagues? Of course he wouldn't say no. But that doesn't make him anymore ready...

Based on that post, it is obvious you know little about the game of baseball.

Comments like that show how some fans are completely uneducated in how the game works.

I did not get hyped AT ALL about him making a start. Personally, I'm ALL ABOUT the Major Leagues. I don't pay attention to any of the minor leagues. I don't read reports that any of you write, nor do I look at the box scores that are posted. I had no clue what Cotts' numbers were. I don't pay attention to Joe Borchard (what's he done) , and never thought anything of Joe Crede until he got here. I also do not pay attention to Jon Rauch (hasn't helped out this team yet). The point I'm trying to make is I don't care about "prospect". I like the White Sox, and couldn't cre less if the Intimidators won their division or took last. The reason for all these guys is that maybe someday they'll help the Chicago White Sox. But until they do so, it doesn't matter.

Sorry for ranting, but this is just how I feel. I respect those who do like the minor leagues, because that shows you are very passionate about this organizatioon.

Typing f*** Neal Cotts said all that needed to be said.....

Time to grow up and get a clue.

U have your opinion and I have mine. I don't know a whole lot about Cotts. But he was walkin folks in AA. That's all I really need to know right now. Under any other circumstance Cotts would finish the year at AA and get his control worked out. But he's here outta desperation. Anybody with "half a brain" as u like to say would know that...

Whether you care about the minors or not makes no difference. But to crucify a guy over one outing or as in the example you wrote, a guy goes 0-4 with 7 LOB in his debut you'd get pissed is assinine.

Baseball is a long season and players are judged by how they do over the long haul, not how they are in one game. If a guy goes 0-4 you pat him on the back and say "get them tomorrow". If a guy does what Cotts did, you say 'here's the ball, go get em". A guy wouldn't be in that position if he had no earned it.

To think with such tunnel vision of getting hyped or pissed about one game or outing shows a lack of knowledge about the game of baseball. Perhaps someday you will get it.

Listening to differing points of view is easy if they are backed with logic and maturity. Starting a thread titled f*** Neal Cotts does neither. Nor does assuming a guy is not ready for the big leagues based on one bad outing, especially when you haven't seen it.

Make a case for your argument and back it up with fact and I will respect your opinions all day. I'll argue mine right with you, but if you want to go toe-to-toe, be able to state your case. So far, you haven't done any of that.

My apologies if you can't see that.

Where do u get this "crucify" stuff? I don't recall anybody saying Neal Cotts sucks and should never ever pitch again. The criticism though is fair. He walked 6 guys in less than 3 innings. Luckily Dan Wright came on and bailed him out...

My apologies if you can't see that.

Well If u were paying attention I admitted I was a lil harsh with the 'f*** COTTS" Thread. I started this thread to explain myself and obviously u still don't get it. I made last nights comments outta annoyance of all the Neal Cotts ass kissin that was goin on last night. I wanted to talk about somethin else besides Cotts. Mainly Dan Wright...

Look, are you saying you don't get pissed at the players on Monday when he couldn't get anything done with the bases loaded?

I agree with the "GO get 'em". If he was my personal friend, surely I'd tell him that. I'd also tell him that if I was in the dugout, which obviously I'm not. I' not crucifying him, I said he had a bad game. Try and tell me he didn't.

Sox talk is a really cool website.  But i've noticed in here that if u disagree with certain people they go off and start callin people names.  I respect all opinions.  Doesn't mean I agree.  But I can listen to all points of view.  For those who can't I say f*** em  :fyou

It's not your opinions that pissed me off, personally. Your opinion that he doesn't belong here, while it can be debated, is fine and dandy.

But...saying "f*** NEAL COTTS" - especially in the headline- is rediculous. It's not an opinion or a point of view. It's an attack. It's unfounded. You should have tried: Drop, send down, trade...anything but the "F Bomb."
