southsider2k5
http://www.csnchicago.com/baseball-chicago...mp;feedID=10338 White Sox place Crain on 15-day DL April 27, 2012, 1:05 pm JJ STANKEVITZ Jesse Crain's been dealing with an oblique injury since spring training. On Friday, he finally landed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 21. Dylan Axelrod was called up from Triple-A Charlotte to take his spot on the roster. Crain hadn't pitched since April 20 and has only thrown seven innings this season. He's struck out at least one batter in each of his six appearances and has recorded two strikeouts four times. He missed a good chunk of spring training with the same injury, although he opened the season on the 25-man roster and made his first appearance April 8 in Texas. Axelrod has been great in Charlotte, walking four with 26 strikeouts and a 1.08 ERA over 25 innings.
Balta1701
Relative to April 21, so he's basically got 9 days to go before he can come off.
sunofgold
Our first player on the DL this year. Knock on wood that our players stay healthy. Great job by Herm and Crew. Get Jesse back as soon as possible.
southsider2k5
QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 01:42 PM) Our first player on the DL this year. Knock on wood that our players stay healthy. Great job by Herm and Crew. Get Jesse back as soon as possible. It sounds like he probably never got healed up from this spring.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 01:48 PM) It sounds like he probably never got healed up from this spring. I read a couple days ago, that he was saying this oblique strain isn't the side he was hurting with in ST - it is the other side. Could be related though. danman31
Axelrod deserved it by blowing away AAA, but I hate to see him be forced to throw out of the pen. I'm not sure his stuff translates as well in relief.
Quin
I'd update his AAP, but I had another seizure last night and anything resembling work annoys me.
caulfield12
That's a full ten homegrown players on the White Sox roster now. Nearing the 13 which is the high mark for any team in the majors currently. KW for Executive of the Year. Just kidding. elrockinMT
Axelrod up but always confusing when they use a starter as reliever
southsider2k5
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,1646865.story Extra innings: Reliever Jesse Crain is eligible to come off the disabled list Sunday, but the Sox aren't sure if he will be ready by then as he recovers from a left oblique strain. Crain is scheduled to throw off a mound before Thursday's game after playing catch Tuesday.
flavum
Crain will throw Wednesday. If all goes well, he'll be at Charlotte on Friday and Saturday.
