Steve9347
They're doing their best to ruin this idiot. He's playing like s*** in AAA... CALL HIM UP!
caulfield12
It's the White Sox problem with prospects, WIN NOW! 708 OPS in AAA at age 19. Only one homer and a handful of RBI's. For comparison, Brandon Inge put up a 907 OPS in AAA last year at Toledo. The Nats are in first place....so, here comes this accompanying move to instill even more hype and enthusiasm with the fanbase.
LittleHurt05
I realize the offense is hot garbage without Zim & Morse, but they are 14-5. Take it easy and give Harper some more time to develop.
farmteam
Yeah, I'm that guy who picked up Harper and put him in his starting lineup. Easy to do when you have terrible hitting! Can't get any worse.
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 10:57 PM) Yeah, I'm that guy who picked up Harper and put him in his starting lineup. Easy to do when you have terrible hitting! Can't get any worse. I tried. But him and Trout were taken. Hoping to snag Trevor Bauer soon. Steve9347
I try to not over react to flash-in-the-pan MLB players because, well, this league has been full of them. But. That kid's 19? He looks 28. And. Um. Hustle. And. Um. Wow. We all know he'll be really good. What if he winds up the best ever?

Quin
He's 3 days older then me. God damn. Has there ever been a luckier three consecutive first rounders in Strasburg-Harper-Rendon?
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 3, 2012 -> 02:49 AM) He's 3 days older then me. God damn. Has there ever been a luckier three consecutive first rounders in Strasburg-Harper-Rendon? They sure as hell picked the best two seasons to be the worst team in baseball. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
Steve9347
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 2, 2012 -> 11:55 PM) And. Um. Arm. That too. Strikes from the outfield to home. caulfield12
Mickey Mantle might be the closest comparison...in terms of speed, power and athletic ability.

Yes you have, you were young, but this was Griffey Jr. Deadspin has a funny video of Harper showing up at the washington monument the other day to take a few softball cuts. He whiffs on the first one, which is pretty funny, then he sends the next one a mile away
