BigSqwert
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Apr 29, 2012 -> 12:57 PM) Gordon would've had that one. Yes but he would have hit into 4 triple plays today.

caulfield12
Uh-oh, gotta get out of this inning without any further damage. Didn't have time there to get Thornton up to face Ortiz. Addison Reed into the game.
Balta1701
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 29, 2012 -> 04:04 PM) Uh-oh, gotta get out of this inning without any further damage. Didn't have time there to get Thornton up to face Ortiz. Addison Reed into the game. 2 days ago it was hard to predict Danks imploding, but here Floyd was >100 pitches, having someone ready as a backup in the pen would have been a good move. Soxfest
Reed is closer material.
caulfield12
Wonder why Reed's velocity was down a bit there? Weather? Not warmed up enough? Not sure how comfortable you can be with Reed as closer at 92-94. 94-97 works a lot better. Well, got out of it at least, but this game's now going to be a nail-biter from here on out. Personally, I'd like Reed to get 8th and then Thornton the 9th.

caulfield12
There's no other choice but Thornton, so I'm sure we'll see Santiago as closer at least one more time. Sweeney/Laser Light Show/Gonzalez/Ortiz/Ross lurking in the weeds for the 9th inning. Won't be easy. Assuming it goes 1-2-3 in the top of the 8th.
