Pants Rowland
This game has been over far too long for me to have to do this. I didn't even watch the game, but from what I saw in the highlights in the bar... Beckham!!! Sale!!! Your mom!!!! That's all I got. Please add/subtract where necessary. Reddy
Come the f*** on guys. BECKHAM! SALE! BASICALLY EVERYBODY EXCEPT HECTOR! we won the friggin' game.
greg775
Sale you are the man! And AJ with another homer? The Sox win when they hit home runs to go with that pitching. Case closed. Lift and pull, baby. For occasional speed sprinkle in a little DeAza/Rios.

caulfield12
Sox haven't lost a game this year scoring more than 4 runs. Chris Sale continues to impress, although perhaps not quite dominate. Indians really looked like garbage. Humber vs. Tomlin tomrw night will be the big test, if we can have a repeat performance from the offense. Everyone WANTS to believe that this is the "real" Beckham but there's so much evidence against it that we've become cynical and inured to his occasional offensive breakouts. Crosses fingers that either Beckham or Morel can pull out of it. Morel did hammer another ball hard into an out. Better to be optimistic. And Santiago, we must remember, is a year removed from A ball. He should spend another season in the minors refining his offspeed stuff...at the worst, he's a very useful set-up guy and an inexpensive replacement for Thornton. At best, a very competent member of the starting rotation in 2013/14.
witesoxfan
That was such a fun game to watch. De Aza absolutely SMOKED that double.
Buehrle>Wood
Whoever missed that game missed a great, fun one. I fully expect the entire Indians infield to be sent down to A ball by tomorrow.
caulfield12
Cabrera and Kipnis aren't going anywhere. Jason Donald and Santana, they're not so good. But they really need to keep Carlos healthy and keep his bat in the line-up. Hannahan's a very good defender and their normal everyday 3B. chw42
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 2, 2012 -> 12:09 AM) That was such a fun game to watch. De Aza absolutely SMOKED that double. He did smoke a pitch right at Jimenez later on, but that resulted in a fielder's choice. I guess things sort of evened out.

I understand one of them was because there was a lot of smoke left by the fireworks, but come on...
MEANS
Gordon looks liked a different player on that HR at-bat, I didn't see his other at-bats, hopefully he can build on this.
southsider2k5
It was really nice to see the offense roll a bit at home. Especially nice to see signs of life from Alexei, Gordo, Brent, and Dayan.
Cali
How were Gordo's hits? Still doing the one handed machete swing and just lucking out or actual solid contact with a nice level swing?

iamshack
QUOTE (Cali @ May 2, 2012 -> 06:57 AM) How were Gordo's hits? Still doing the one handed machete swing and just lucking out or actual solid contact with a nice level swing? He smoked his home run to left...hit it right on the button. Went the other way really nice on his second hit, hit the ball really solidly to right. His third hit was sort of a flare to right which was fairly impressive simply because it was low and on the outside corner.

He has more motion in the bat than he used to, the bat is more horizontal, and last night he was quite a bit lower with more bend in his knees. southsider2k5
Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN Ubaldo Jimenez didn't muster a missed swing from a batter until his 92nd pitch Tuesday. Average fastball velo down to about 91.5 mph.
caulfield12
That's weird. At MLB.com GameDay, he was at 93-94-95 pretty consistently the first 3 innings. Even had one or two at 96, which surprised me. Guess he really must have lost it the second half of his outing as his pitch count elevated.

Right before be blasted that homerun, Hawk was saying that Manto has been working with Gordon to "stand taller" in the box. Not quite sure what that means, but he looked a lot better at the plate last night. He absolutely destroyed that ball on the homerun. Balta1701
Reliever Zach Stewart pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings, and he is one of only seven American League relievers to pitch at least five innings without allowing a walk.
