fathom
QUOTE (Jake @ May 6, 2012 -> 08:19 PM) Gordon just has a bad swing and he has shown me nothing to indicate that he has the ability to overcome it via pitch selection, coordination, etc He did fine the last week. I also think his hand is still injured from getting hit today.

fathom
QUOTE (Baron @ May 6, 2012 -> 08:21 PM) Hopefully we can send Morel and Santiago down now It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to send down Santiago and get another reliever up for the DH tomorrow. I assume Stults will be added as the 26th man. Morel will get until end of road trip at the earliest, I'd bet.

Jake
QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2012 -> 03:20 PM) He did fine the last week. I also think his hand is still injured from getting hit today. I'm rooting for him and he looked great last week. His entire career though...same s*** -- his results are exactly what his swings would suggest he would have. Swings and misses, pop ups/high flies, ground balls. His swing is like a damn golf swing and we all know if you make contact at the wrong part of a golf swing the ball never goes the right way QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 6, 2012 -> 03:21 PM) I think Santiago could be AAA bound with Sox needing a fresh arm for DH Monday! Roster expands to 26 for doubleheaders
The Ginger Kid
It's still weird that double headers are only due to rainouts. Sox have to be careful of falling more than 5 out so early.
Dick Allen
With as much s*** guys like Beckham and Morel get, its amazing the free pass Alexei Ramirez gets on this board. I do realize he is a notoriously slow starter, and have noted this year's start is hardly any different from all his others, but these games do count. The guy has a .217 OBP. Its time Alexei does something differently in the offseason in an attempt to actually start hitting before the season is 20% over. flavum
They probably want as many fresh arms as possible tomorrow. In addition to Stults. Maybe Heath? Bruney? Shirek? Whatever the case, I hope Stults earns his way to more starts after tomorrow. Edited May 6, 2012 by flavum

I really think Stults deserves an opportunity though. There's no rush for Molina right now. For all we know, this could just be a move to get fresh arms here tomorrow, and Axelrod will start again next Sunday. I assume Stults will start regardless of long term plans. I think Bruney deserves a shot to be in our bullpen. Isn't there some kind of restriction on how long you have to wait between demotion/promotion?
